The way trim tabs work has seemed SO counterintuitive to me - I've read and watched everything I could find in hopes of better understanding how they work. You're the ONLY one that has made me understand what's going on. I now think of it this way: the control surface might fly the airplane, but the trim tab flies the control surface. THANK YOU, you just made getting through ground school easier!

Wow, when I was 10 years old, I was adjusting the angle of the tail section of my paper plane to make it fly more leveled. I just learned thet I was adjusting trims of my paper plane :)

A great way to remember which direction to move the trim wheel: forward and back to match the yoke pressure. Student Pilot here and this will stick with me.

Thank you!!! I watched a different video where he used a computer generated image but he had to color draw a trim tab on the stabilizer and it didn't move! Then he just focused on the trim wheel and didn't explain which way it actually moved the tab! Thank you for explaining it! I was pretty sure this was the way it worked but you confirmed it for me!

Thank you for explaining that. I almost was thinking that there was a fault with my flight simulator setup. The action is on the elevator and not directly on the air, hence the trim tab moves in a way that is not intuitionally simple.
