Just got off the line with BMD support. Apparently the problem i am dealing with regarding missing waveforms is now a known issue. The tech advised that they have received a lot of calls on this issue lately an the common thread is AAC audio and Windows 11 22H2 update. They are working on a patch to address the issue, but the only current recommendation is to rollback the OS.

the issue is the waveform either not showing or partially showing. This causes issues with editing if you prefer to see where the audio gaps are, but also causes "align based on waveform" to not work. Resolve will play the audio but since it cannot "see" it, it becomes impossible to use the waveform sync method.

I was able to sort this out by updating the "Cache File Location" File > Project Settings > Master Settings > Working Folders. Hope this helps.

I went back to a video I was editing yesterday and today when I worked on it, the waveforms are gone. I've tried every single tip from every single video and NOTHING works. It's so frustrating. You're tip didn't work this time around, unfortunately. Davinci has some explaining to do. I've tried rebooting and I've checked for updates. Nothing.

This simple and obvious fix is often recommended but it does not work. I have studio 18.1.4. I drop one music track on the timeline and the waveforms show. I drop a different one, also a wav, and no waveforms for this track, though the other audio tracks still show theirs. This is a well known issue but no real fix seems to exist.

Thanks for the video but your solution did not restore the wave form. I have been using DR for years and never had an issue. Even made a video this morning with wave forms visible but now they are gone and no mater what I do I can't seen to get them back -HELP! :)

Hi! I'm having a problem where in my windows 11 computer the audio waveforms only show like halway of the clip, instead of ther beginning (audio is there and if I max zoom i can see the waveforms, but only there). Do you happen to know how to fix this? I've been looking everywhere but nothing fixes it for me...

PSD: If i open the clips in my laptop I don't have that problem.. so it's not the clips.. I tried the deleting cache folders and reassigning them but didn't work.. If you know something i would appreciate it. Great video and thanks!

Didn't work, this breaks with every other release since 8 where I started, what ever programer at BMD is responsible for this they need to up their game or leave

ive watched 100 videos. no waveform... clips work fine outside of the program.. i give up.
