32" is too small to fully leverage 4k (you'll need text scaling). 42/43" is a bit big for the table, yeah.
38" is going to have exactly the pixel density of four 1080p 19" monitors.
_to a degree_ you can work around "ideal sizes" by moving a monitor closer or further from your face (depending on your eyesight).
