I'm writing my PhD dissertation on hover flies. I find it odd that the video lists (correctly) the ecological benefits of hover flies as well as the fact that they cannot harm you and then proceeds to describe multiple ways to get rid of them. I don't even find them annoying; sometimes they will land on you but they are harmless. It is difficult for me to imagine a situation where someone would want to get rid of hover flies.

I love these girls, they tickle my skin and the more it feels like they really on me because I'm a source of nutrients from my body sweat which feels so symbiotic, and protective for them because birds are scared to come near me, and they're cute and really appreciate us for being accepting of them and I always whisper softly to them to help them trust me and since I don't have any friends I just take care of my hoverflies.

Why would anyone want to get rid of them? I love them

It's not like they're a nuisance like mosquitoes, gnats and flies.

This has to be one of worst-researched and presented videos on YouTube. Hoverflies are excellent pollinators and are really beneficial to gardens and wild spaces. They are completely harmless to people; they don’t sting or bite. They don’t spread disease.
Some of the sequences you used are completely irrelevant to Hoverflies.
If you’re going make videos like this, at least research the subject and attempt to get some of the information right.
This video made me incredibly angry at the way you presented inaccurate and in many cases, completely wrong information.
