Was volunteering in Nepal a couple years back, the organization I was there with had an Irish employee there, as well as a couple other German volunteers. Unsurprisingly, the Germans found it extremely funny to continously make IRA jokes towards Cormac, the employee. He took them on the chin until he heard that an Irish volunteer would be joining us.
He got very serious, took them to the side and told them: "Yeah, you gotta stop as soon as he joins. I heard he's from the Northern border, so his family might have lost loved ones to the troubles. Don't do that shit to him."
Was my first, obviously very memorable contact with the relationship of the Irelands.

I visited Belfast last year. We walked through a room with a sign that said "customs". There was literally no one there.

0:30 technically the Craigyhill bonfire as there are a few that exist in and around Larne. You start to see them being built around April or at the latest May and they’re built by the end of June. I’m always away on the 12th but you can see them in the week or two before I leave. They’re is t just a bonfire as the organizers will plan a kind of fun fare sort of thing. This sounds all good until you realise it is not the most friendly people doing this stuff.
