Making an anvil stand for a 215 pound chunk of steel!

Hallo leute! I finally got around to making my new homemade anvil. I got this chunk of steel from a pay-loader mechanic shop for free actually, well a case of beer. Basically for free. It is a mild steel, but pretty tough, when I am hammering hot steel it wont leave a mark. Perfect for knife making, swords, axes, ironwork. All the wood was from an old deck. Thank you for watching! Ask me any questions you like. My next video should be a review on my forge, many have asked for that.

Special thanks to my cousin Nate for helping me so I don't pull a muscle in my back, haha.

I've been looking to put together an anvil of my own very soon, and have drawn some inspiration from you. Thanks, and well done!

That wood just popping off was hilarious

I don't think you got enough measurements on the steel

looks good, but you should definitely build a steel stand when you get the chance

great job. Just take a half inch or three quarter inch high grade hard steel plate and weld it to the top square off the corners and it will be fantastic.

Nice anvil, I see so many people getting fixated on getting a real/London patten anvil when mild steel works just as good as a "real anvil" especially when they weigh over a 100 pounds but anyway nice job with the stand and keep up the work.

awesome! I am filming a video about me making a karambit for a customer from libanon, the video should be done in about 2 weeks or so :) keep up the good work!

What did I just watch? Hope you have steel toe boots. I like the anvil tho.

Very cool simple anvil; looks like it'll work well for a while!
Why didn't you put a piece of wood on the other two sides of the anvil? It may be liable to bounce off the stand if it's not secured, and you don't want a 150 pound hunk of steel falling on your toes. . .

Dude, I dont mean to sound disrespectful but that stand is not good. That anvil would serve you better mounted like a Japanese or post anvil

I liked your editing and camera angles more than your anvil.

Try standing it upright, vertically. Should work out better for you.
