HOW TO MAKE! an anvil stand!

I bought this super old anvil. I'm not sure if it's a German model with two horns. I don't know where it was originally made, maybe England.

It has some writing on it and I think it says "Warranted best scrap" I know that anvils used to make from selected cast iron. All I can say that it's well used.

Interesting fact. Back in the days in Finland the blacksmith that made the horseshoes didn't have his own anvil. He toured the countryside and every farm had to have own anvils for him to work.

I had some old leftover 5"x5" beams. I made six pieces for suitable length. I made the upper and lower rims from angle iron. I glued and bolted the beams together with the rims. Later I made some home maid thick nails and hammered those in the bolt holes. It's a very sturdy anvil stand but could be little heavier.

I added some burn marks and a logo. I guess it's a T-handle logo or the Thor logo ;D

I also added a hooks for two hammers so those are near by when forging.

I've been hunting a forge so that I can do some forging. For now I'm using oxy-asetylene torch for heating. Home made forge would be a cool project to do.

Thanks for tuning in to my workshop! I'm sorry about the video quality. This was one of my first videos filmed by mobile phone.

Thanks and Cheers!

Wish I could find an anvil like that! They’re as rare as hens teeth here in Perth Australia.
Not nice work bro!
