Elon Musk has revealed the time-frame SpaceX Starship will first arrive at Mars. Today we dig it a little, do a little math, and get this time frame down to the exact month and year Starship will need to leave our beautiful blue marble of a planet, Earth!

I think a base on the moon should follow soon after. Surely the ultimate goal would be to build ships on the moon and launch from there.

For my entire life (58 years old) humans visiting Mars has always been 20 years away. That’s also been the case with clean fusion energy as well. We will be there in 20 years. Hopefully, this time it’s different.
I have no doubt Musk is going to do everything he can to make this a reality- but human lifetimes are not that long. When he passes will the next SpaceX CEO have the same goals? I really hope so🙏

The moon was tough in 1969. Mars is even tougher. Fuel is the issue as you need a lot and a lot to slow back down for Mars. Some say why mars over the moon. Mars has some atmosphere and more gravity.

In my mind's eye, I have questions like "Is this a one-way trip?", or "What is the return plan?". Rescue ship? Are we going forward confidently or with a measured risk assessment?
