How to Install Guest Additions Virtualbox Ubuntu (UPDATED!)

In this video, I will show you how to install virtualbox guest additions on ubuntu. The version i am using is ubuntu 22.04 which the long term support version of ubuntu.

What did it for me was simply turning on 3d acceleration on display settings, allocating vram to 64 mb and then inside ubuntu I was finally able to set res to 4k. The method in the vid didn't work and wouldn't let me log in. Just a heads up if anyone wants to set the resolution to 4k.

sudo apt update does NOT install the upgrades, sudo apt upgrade does,
so why don't use sudo upt upgrade right after sudo apt update?
