KUNG FU PANDA 4 is Not GREAT... #shorts

So, here's my take on Kung Fu Panda 4. It's not as bad as I thought, but it's not exactly blowing my mind either. I was cool with Kung Fu Panda 3 wrapping things up, so when rumors started swirling about a fourth flick, I was skeptical. Let's start with the positives. The movie's visuals are stunning, maintaining the colorful and stylistic animation the series is known for. Po's character development is also commendable, showing his growth into a true inspiration. The action sequences, particularly the tavern brawl, are thrilling and well-executed. On the downside, the 3D felt flat, not worth the extra cash. The soundtrack was forgettable, except for Zhen's theme. And the plot? Well, it's a mixed bag. Some characters, like Li, felt off. And the story beats seemed recycled, especially the Dragon Warrior stuff. Plus, some characters, like the Furious Five, felt sidelined. And the Chameleon villain lacked depth, her backstory feeling rushed. Overall, it's okay. Not terrible, but not amazing like the trilogy. Just kinda meh.

The Furious five being “Sidelined” is the biggest understatement of the century.

My favorite movie of the series was the 2nd. It touched me emotionally

Both Kai and Shen were evil from the beggining, only Tai Lung's backstory was sad.

The furious five felt sidelined? They were literally not even in the movie the only part that they were in the end credits💀

I personally think that Tigeress should have replaced Po so it would wrap back to the first one where she was almost chosen.

Actually, the chameleon's backstory was just a last minute inclusion. Mike mitchell didn't want her to have one but the crew members did. So she could've been even more bland than she is now. And that's only a small bit of the nightmare of a development this movie had.

The evil chameleon: "they said i couldn't practice kung fu, because i was small"

Master mantis: "skill diff" 🗿

I couldn’t help but notice that shen and Kai didn’t talk at all, you know those two would be talking up a storm, could they not afford the voice actors?

The chameleon took more time to transform into her big design than it had actual time on screen.

She turns into po for no reason, as she hadn’t absorbed his energy so she didn’t have his skills (would be more meaningful if she’d stolen his power at some point)

Po gets out of the unbreakable cage off screen during the final fight and then proceeds to one shot the villain, so could he have just done that at any time?

Kai and Shen are brought back but have no lines or comments about the villain or to Po, and they go back to the spirit realm without a fight.

The chameleon’s motivation makes no sense. She was banned from learning kung fu based on her size and strength, even though we have both mantis and viper as kung fu masters despite one being literally a bug and the other not even having limbs.

The whole movie felt like it needed another 30-40 minutes to flesh out the ideas a lot more. But even conceptually some of it just didn’t work for me.

Two things didn't make sense in this movie:

1. The Chameleon only became evil because she was too small to learn Kung Fu... Meanwhile, in the same universe, there lives Mantis, who is even smaller and is one of the greatest Kung Fu masters.

2. Po is literally forced to give up on being a dragon warrior and become a spiritual leader as soon as possible, which is bad for many reasons:
- Wisdom comes with age and experience, and Po is still relatively young and immature. Why do he need to become a spiritual leader right now?
- Suddenly there is like a casting for a new dragon warrior and it's on the "just pick someone" principle. In the first movie, this was a really big deal, and the candidate had to be truly worthy of the title (not to mention that each candidate had been trained for years specifically for this purpose and ultimately it was the universe's choice, not Oogway's to pick one).

Shen was the only one to die to Po, instead of just going to the shadow realm.

As soon as I found out the the Furious Five wasn't in the main poster of the movie, I already felt like this isn't gonna be great.

Honest, the movie is okay, though it would've been better if they hadn't rushed Chameleon's backstory, some actual scenes of the furious five instead of showing up at the end, and give us Tai Lung's redemption Arc as everyone expected.

The chameleon's is too savage: she make them fall from stairs

Furious 5 was a no show.
They gave the new title to a complete random instead of a crowd favorite (tigress).
It absolutely was rushed as the villain backstory was none existent
