Schön, dass sich RME bemüht Totalmix zu erklären. Leichter würde es mir fallen, wenn statt des dauernden Hintergrundgeräusches, richtige Musik für die Wirkung der Effekte herangezogen würde. Auch der Efeuhintergrund nur lenkt ab.

I like these videos, generally speaking. My only complaint is that, the droning music in the background is not helpful to understanding what in the world you are doing with the mixer in the software. IF, on the other hand, the music that was accompanying these videos went along with the changes you are making, it would make a lot more sense.

2 Stunden versuch ich nun erfolglos ein Hardware Reverb (Strymon BigSky) mit TotalMix und Studio One zu routen. Während Studio One super easy zu verstehen ist, kapier ich - mal wieder - gar nix mit TotalMix. Bin nur froh, dass ich da nicht alleine bin.

Can you please do a detailed tutorial on the channels as they relate to the DAW? You lost me when you mentioned 15 and 16. I don't understand how the huge number of numbers in the DAW's tracks relate to TotalMix. I use Logic and there are buses, outputs, etc.

Hey guys? Why you not add the DSP check into the Total Mix? Make it easy... and sure, update your Total Mix and make it with better look like UAD or Apogee... its look so old and little. Because the functionality are superb.

Die Musik im Hintergrund macht das zuhören und das fachliche verstehen super anstrengend!
Anhand von Beispielen die man sehen kann und die nachzuvollziehen sind ergibt sich denke ich auch das ein und andere.
Die Blocks sind sicherlich gut gemeint aber für mich total am Ziel vorbei schade

My TotalMix FX doesnt appear the D for dynamic to set up, is it the model of my interface (Babyface)?

With Loopback the Output-Channel is send back to the corresponding Input-Channel, right!? Why is this not reflected on the level-meter of the input channel? Because the level-meters on the input channels are pre-fader that should be reflected there IMO, but it is not! I can therefore also not route that input channel to main! :-( Is that a misunderstanding of mine somewhere?

I still have HDSP9652. The loopback button is missing on the Totalmix input. This by design or am I missing a setting somewhere?

recording the input with the Aux FX sends is so convoluted this way. Why? Why couldn't you just have the option to record those like you have with the EQ and Dynamics?

what if I want to just reverb to my headphones but don't want to record the Fx

Can you tell me please, if I want not only to record the processed signal with EQ or dynamics from the software playback channel, but also hear what changes I made to the signal with EQ or dynamics parameters (i.e. to listen to the actual changes in sound that are made by manipulating the EQ or dynamics introduced on the output channel receiving the signal from the software playback channel), what should I do? To put it simple: in your video you're showing only how to record the software playback channel with EQ or dynamics without real time checking the changes in sound. The result of manipulating these two effects can be heard only after you record the track. How can I check how the software playback channel sounds with EQ or dynamics, but before the actual recording of the track? How can it be done? Thank you.
