FAQ
- TRY DO THIS IN THIS ORDER
this information is confirmed by looking into the code, not learned by testing. this means that even if i didn't show something in the video, the information i've given you can be safely trusted. obviously, because of the numerous combination of things to test, i can't create an exhaustively comprehensive demonstration of everything - so for stuff like the medigun, i opted not to show every combination of order and weapons.

though i fully expect you nerds to think of some other wild edge cases that even i haven't thought to test and there'll be a part two :))))

also, update on the sapper stuff. sapping with another spy doesn't change anything. not 100% sure why but there's nothing new to report, so no part 3.

(blanket disclaimer: idk if what i said makes sense, i didn't sleep well so i'll come back later to edit this with proper english if it sucks)

"If I shoot someone and they die, I'm the killer"

Wow that was the shortest mystery novel I've ever read.

The most important assists are pet accesories while in pyroland.

1:41 "For debuffs, it tiebreaks by ordering the weapons by release date."

I wouldn't expect anything less from Valve developers.

A lot of weird kill credit in the past makes sense now. Great video as usual.

Fun fact you forgot to mention: if a pyro reflects a stun ball at an enemy player who then dies, the assist goes to the enemy scout. This can results in sometimes an enemy scout getting an assist in his own death.

It's amazing how you keep finding questions to things that are so interesting, yet I never really thought that hard about before. You're pretty much the only TF2 content creator still full of fresh ideas, so hats off to that.

Imagine if it just included everyone on the list of assisting actions and like 20 dudes all work together to kill one engineer

Shounic: "If I shoot someone, I'm the killer"
Audience: "Dear god"
Shounic: "There's more..."
Audience: "No"

Bit of a correction on 5:40: A spy can get an assist on a destroyed building if he places a sapper on the building and a teammate destroys the building while it is being sapped.

So that's why it's pretty common for a decent medic to top score, just heal everyone and you'll get the credit xD

I love how even after 13 years, we still have something we don't know about TF2 and it's still being analyzed
I just hope TF2 team didn't update the game too soon, so this video is going to be useful... Oh wait

Me: “does 2990 damage to heavy robot”

Scout out of no where: “uses pistol”

Spy out of no where: “facestabbs it”

Me:”doesn’t get even a assist”
