Raising autism awareness

An effort is underaway to raise awareness about autism.

Hey, so, just to point out, we aren't puzzle pieces. This makes us sound mysterious and like some inscrutable other. We're people.

We also would rather be accepted than just have folks be aware of us. It's a slight change but one that has a radical change in meaning. I can hate or at least not actively work to include stuff I'm aware of. But it's hard to say I accept people if I'm not making room for their existence in my daily life.
