Students and parents protest pride flag ban in Stoughton schools

don't forget little Johnny in grade 3 thinks he wants to be a communist, so you have to put up the hammer and sickle flag in the classroom, and don't forget the anarchist flag as well to accomodate all the different views of the children...and the flat earther flag because some people believe in that too

My alma mater 😔.... Let's hope SHS eventually steps up and does the right thing. As a gay closeted teen who attended SHS 1979-1983, I would never have been accepted had I come out. Those were different times...or were they? In any case, I can only imagine the difference it would have made in my life had SHS stood up for LGBTQ students by visibly supporting us.

The feeble anti-flag arguments here are unbelievable in every way.

Expand the use of pride flags. It should be inside and outside the school copiously displayed. Homophobia and toxic masculinity is destroying America. The quadruple murders in Idaho were a result of such negativity.

First of all that superintendent should make sure its students are learning reading and writing .. Why even put so much time and energy to ban a flag .. When they should be worry about money to fund school lunches or paying educators etc., Stop banning things so we wont be protesting.. We have other things to worry about . .. My time will be spent handing out sandwiches to the homeless..

Having multiple flags in the classroom with the American flag representing the various cultures and gender and sexual orientations of the students in that classroom is a very good thing. For those various pride flags in the classroom is a sign that tells the students that are represented that they are not invisible and that they matter and that there is nothing wrong with who they are and how they identify themselves. All children no matter their culture, their race, their gender or sexual orientation deserve to be fully respected and to be 100% truthfully acknowledged for who they truly are from the inside out.
