Shouting, heated exchanges break out over LGBTQ+ books in Dearborn schools

At a Dearborn School Board meeting Thursday, hundreds of people filled the Stout Middle School auditorium. There was shouting, booing, and more as people shared their thoughts about certain books in school libraries after a parent reported them as being sexually explicit and inappropriate for children.

It's funny how in all of the news reports that I've seen about this, the book covers are shown. However, when the book is opened, the pictures inside are blurred out! I guess the media cannot show such explicit pix on camera. Yet, some people think that it's fine and dandy that innocent little school children can see them daily!

As a bisexual woman that’s actually a woman, I don’t blame parents for not wanting their kids who are 6-14 to read sexually explicit books no matter if they are about straight or gay relationships. This is why I can’t even stand to go to pride events anymore cause there’s always some weirdo that just has to dress in some bdsm looking outfit and make it all about sex. “Im sexually free and liberated” no you’re just screaming half naked in public with children around. Pride should be about love and not sex. Wear your rainbows but keep your clothes on.

So I have a question? Why does it take the Muslim community to stand up! Why haven't the majority of parents regardless of race stood up and became outrageously vocal?!! One thing I can say about the Muslims, they will defend what they believe is Truth; not backing down for one minute! And they stand together as One! I deeply admire their courage. 😏
