I had this same debate in college about 28 years ago and literally everybody in the class including the tutor called me a racist. Eventually the tutor said, nobody cares what you think. I was pretty upset, questioned myself. But all these years later we have ethnic minorities say hey, we don’t want to be given an unfair advantage we just want to given equal opportunity and I applaud that.

Cant imagine the reaction if a white man said this

Ironically despite having an excellent point, she was almost certainly picked to talk about this on a conservative show BECAUSE she's a black woman

How about if it wasn't for affirmative action, you probably wouldn't be looking at them in those positions at all.🤔🤔

Ma’am. This argument doesn’t hold for me. Judge KETANJI’s resume “like many overly qualified black professionals” proved that she was more qualified than people who sit on the Supreme Court bench presently. The whole reason for affirmative action is to give opportunities to people of color WHO ARE QUALIFIED but would otherwise be EXCLUDED for consideration or BLOCKED from nomination BECAUSE of their race.

NOBODY IS CONFUSED ABOUT QUALIFICATIONS HERE. 😳 People of color historically have been OVER qualified for opportunities and still get blocked based on BS.

This is not a good point; but rather a rubber stamp talking point that has been used by dominant group society to undermine efforts to create equity for people of color; and to shed light 💡 on the egregious offense of systemic racism.

Maybe hiring a person based on their qualifications, experience, and desire for the job isn't such a bad idea after all.

This girl is spot on and very intelligent.

She conveniently leaves out the fact that Jackson, is upon starting the judgeship, more qualified than all the others.

So what about her qualifications? Forget the “ we’re hiring a black women” statement. They picked the most qualified person who’s ever been in that position. That’s got to mean something

Ketanji Brown Jackson is a double Harvard graduate who is one the most educated and experienced Supreme Court appointments EVER made. Amy Coney Barrett wasn’t 1/2 as qualified but I guarantee these “black conservatives” had no problem with her nomination.

True if the playing field was equal. The reason affirmative action was even needed was because there was no black person ever chosen when you don’t make it mandatory. Exhibit A NFL coaching.

DAMN!!! This girl is spot on reading my mind.

I would agree with her point if there wasn't a system in place that for 100's of years never would've considered a black woman for the Supreme court. People like her are forgetting our past and only focusing on the narrow vision that white America is promoting. That everything is fair and equal now.

I love this young woman's content. She's going places based on her merit. No doubt

This poor girl. She's too young to even realize how she's being humiliated and used. Not to mention the skinnin' and grinnin' tap dancer next to her. So sad to be put on display like that.

She did a good job of twisting the whole concept and notion around to be something negative rather than a deliberate attempt to break through a racist system. Amazing.

Apparently, she not her “hype man” truly understand the reason for affirmative action. This is why knowing your history is important!!!
