The phonomenal (things as we experience them) versus the nuemenal (things in of themselves which are beyond our senses). He explains it very succinctly!

“All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with reason. There is nothing higher than reason.”

—Immanuel Kant

This may be the dominant, Anglo-American (‘ontological’) interpretation of Kant’s transcendental idealism, but it’s not the only one. For what is (in my opinion) a much more interesting, contemporarily relevant interpretation y’all should check out Henry Allison’s ‘epistemic’ reading of Kants TI in his book, Kant’s Transcendental Idealism: An Interpretation and Defense

The function and its derivative, 2nd derivative, 3rd... me encanta las similitudes de la filosofía con la matemática, son una solo cosa

That is true (of course, it is Kant) but this is dependent on your perspective, as everything just exists (for truth is not based on what one thinks, but the existence of things - Aquinas) and the seperation is only there for us who wish to perceive.

but when you think and reason isn't that an experience? I guess that's why I Ayn Rand said he was the most evil man that ever lived..

Kant argued a separation from reality. Whereas reality is connected to our understanding through the senses. The senses are a connection.

Yeah that's right - you have eyes so as not to be able to see, ears so you cannot hear, and a mind so you cannot think. Kant was THE crucial destroyer of epistemology. Since you cannot know "things in themselves, " everything you perceive is thereby false. I wonder how he came up with this without the aid of sense data...

I tried to read Kant once, it was the most difficult writer for me to understand.
I gave up after like 20 pages.
Maybe in the future I will give him a second chance
