This is the first time I am watching your videos because I was curious to know how a foreign person learns Spanish. As a native Spanish speaker I would say that your content is incredible, you reminded me when I was in high school and some teachers tried to explain all these rules… keep up the good work! 💕

Interesting. As a Canadian I don't think I have ever heard anyone say "he will be busy" after "lucas hasn't come today". Maybe "he was busy" or "he is busy" but never "he will be busy".

I come back to this video every once in a while and slowly I get more and more questions correct. LightSpeed Spanish + Duolingo are helping me become increasingly fluent. So cool to be able to see the changes!

My driving instructor used to say to me -You really learn to drive after you have taken your test. It's the same with almost all exams.

Lucas no vendra hoy. (El) estara ocupado.

Cynthia, I have to remark on the fact that your questions in these small tests are so very good -- of such high quality! They are helpful, useful, and intelligently formed. I can't tell you how often the questions in books and other resources ask the most profoundly unhelpful, or boring, aka unconnected to reality, or downright retarded questions, which is a real show stopper for me. Maybe this is an example of these materials “teaching down” instead of up? So often, I feel as if those questions are actually “rigged” to make the student pay more attention to what "they" want her to answer than to test her actual knowledge.

You really seem to drill down into where the "cracks" in our (second) language learning will show up. I mean, it’s just uncanny. I think your own trials with English have given you a great insight to where we will struggle; Gordon has to be thankful that he is also such a good teacher, or he would sit in despair while you stole the show, LOL!

I continue to be impressed by all the little nuances in your presentations to those of us who speak English natively. Our lengua materna is a real "humdinger" and you are so good at it, that it’s easy to see how much your attention to detail translates to actually helpful lessons. I am so tickled that I've found you both, teaching here on LightSpeed Spanish -- I would so love to return to Spain (been twice) and take an immersion course with you all, but with all the rot going on these days with carrying proof and papers and such, travel is just a dream for now.

BTW, as a person from North America, I did slow down and really parse #8, but I focused quickly in on the first part of the sentence being a possibility that triggered another possibility of a different type [would have] and got that one right. What really made me proud of myself is that I figured it out just the way Gordon described it and you affirmed. So, thankfully, my learning has grown roots deeper than I had thought. Whew... of the three that I missed or simply had doubts about, it really showed me EXACTLY where and how to focus even more sharply. Wow!
