Can You Retire Only Buying The S&P 500? (SPY or VOO)

I am retiring off just spy. No need to complicate a retirement portfolio. This is not a portfolio I would like to actively manage, so keeping it simple is the best idea moving forward.

I AM NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISOR! NONE OF THIS IS FINANCIAL ADVICE. THIS IS JUST ENTERTAINMENT AND ME SHARING WHAT I AM DOING IN THE MARKET.

The truth is...Less is ALWAYS More. You can get VERY rich with only SPY and QQQ. Love the content! Cheers!

Great investing advice especially for young generation. I am going to pass on this advice to my kids.

Nothing wrong with that! I doubled the complexity in my retirement accounts with an SCHD/QQQ combo.

Simple strategy. You will be able to generate a nice option income at retirement.

For 99% of people the best thing to do is just buy overall market ETF's, so no absolutely nothing wrong with that + you are probably beating 90% of people doing it.

Why SPY, rather than VTI, and own the entire market? Are you balancing it with a Bond fund?
