I am so glad someone talked about retiring on 100, 000 so many have talked about 250, 000 or 500, 000 & my wife & I don't have much for retirement, so it gives me hope. Thank you, please expand on bank interest, I had no idea it was so high.

Good sobering video. This is not good idea for most . H
Im 58 with a small retirement of 1500 per month I pull 500 per month from my saving but do not touch my investments.

Im in the Carribean, i go to the beach 2 times a week, eat healthy food, gym membership have a puppy and life is good. It can be done .

I rent an apartment 20 minutes away from the beach for 300 in a secure building ..

I would never live long term overseas with all my eggs in on 100k.

Other places is Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, the Dominican Republic, Columbia.

Thanks for the video

Truth is in Pakistan interest rate is 9% on USD, that will give you nearly 900 per month to live and you can live in very modern and safe places with maid and servants in within that budget, it’s much safer place than you think and when you got that kind of money you will have the best medical care available, average salary there is about 200 USD per month

I thought you were going to say you can live in a cardboard box if you have to live on $333 a month! Anyway, I am going to work as long as possible. But I did subscribe.

Retire in the Philippines.

$1, 500/mo = comfortable living
$3, 000/mo = living like a King

Yes, make a video talking about different amounts and where one can retire. How about 250k, 500k, 750k, and 1 mil.

Nice video. Usually the video's talk about can I retire on 100k/year. For a lot of folks that is unrealistic.
100k will not work out for 99% of people but even the idea that it could work in some countries that might give some hope to anyone starting the FIRE journey or just having a really bad day at work :)
Problem with any country living of 100k would be a market crash after retirement. That will crush your plans, so imo you should always have a backup plan if this is what you want to do. Always reserve at least enough money to be able to return to your homecountry (e.g. medical emergency). In most of the LCOL countries there is no social safety net. There are western beggars in those countries. People who were unfortunate enough to spend too much on a very tight budget.

That said, I really admire people that ignore all the naysayers and follow their dreams/path. If you prepare yourself, understand the risks and are adventurous why not. #YOLO

SS has had two increases in less than 2 years I think the average check now is a little over 1600 to a little over 1800 per month.

You can live in Pakistan safely in gated communities like askari as they are goverened by army. The askari is like mini city with grocery shops, bekeries, cafe, gyms, etc

You can retire on 100k in any country which name ends with “stan” 😂 Jokes aside, it makes sense to consider lower cost locations, but having lived in several 3rd world / emerging market countries, I’ve experienced that its all fine, until you need urgent/complex medical care so that’s something to consider.

Who wants to move to a country where citizens are trying to get out of?

Many of us will retire with MUCH LESS. If I want to stay in my home, I will have to work part time once I 'retire'. SS will not cover my taxes, insurance, maintenance, and basic living expenses on my paid off home in SWFL. If I sell it, and move to a more rural and cheaper area of the country, then yes I will be able to live on it alone. Or another country. Or an RV or van. Many options. But not necessarily comfortable. I want a place that is for retirees. I have never considered India. Are there places that are not crowded? cooler temps? I guess I need to do some research. fyi. Ecuador has avg 8 to 10 percent yield rate if you plan to live there. Beaches, Mountains.. .lots of options.

If you live like a local 100k is enough in Cambodia. But that standard of living is a bit too low for me. I lived with locals there for 2 months.

you can even retire on 0 dollars, like indigenous tribes from the amazon forest. Just don't expect a good quality of life and better learn some jungle survival skills.

I’m trying to retire in July at 50 years old with a 2900 a month pension, nothing else. Do you think it is possible?

I think 100k saved is fine, enjoying the rest of your money. What if you don’t make it to retirement anyways.THINK
