Hello people!

I hope you are all well and safe.
Thank you everyone for the positive feedback ❤️
Welcome to all the new subscribers!!
I hope you all find this place a happy, positive place where you can sit back, relax and get some book reading inspiration!
In this vlog, I went out in search of the sunrise, we got to see it and it was super cool. Also made some adventurous decisions regarding cooking: fried my hand at Painda/ Sobat which is a traditional fish cooked in chicken or beef stew. It is very popular in Pakistan and my mother makes the best Sohbat. Yes also successfully made bitter gourd with minced meat.

Happy reading 📖 folks!
Reesha.

Are you guys participating in the reading rush this year?
If yes, please share your TBR’s: I would love to know what you all are reading 📖

I am also excited about reading rush. I didn't participated in Jane Austen July as I came to know about it late. My birthstone is also blue(zircon). I will read The Call of Wild by Jack London for it. I also got a book for the prompt, " read a book outside" and it is A room with a view by EM Foster.

Your vlogs are very soothing and delightful, I enjoy them exceedingly. I would truly be happy if you make more vlogs. I would read the epic Iliad by Homer later. And yes, the sound system is definitely good.

I crave to own Penguin English Library Editions. I only have one of such editions. I savour your tastes of books, I bought The Far from Maddening Crowd on your recommendation.

Heaps of love😘🥰

Namaste Reesha😊Lovely vlog. Loved your recipe idea of bitter gourd with mince meat. Will try it! You made a good choice with Susan Ferrier's "Marriage", I picked up" Ivanhoe" by Walter Scott - and it's SO LONG! Loved your furry friend😊.You are BRAVE to brave the Illiad( in reading)! My fundamental knowledge of Greek psychology is limited to Pegasus, Olympian deities, Greek Hero Perseus . I am yet to understand proper Greek literature ! See you soon in your next vlog! Happy Reading! Bloopers were good😊👍💖

This is just so lovely. That jellyfish clip was stunning, that headscarf is a gorgeous color on you and how fitting that it matches the Penguin English Classics so well. Ok, back to the show ...

Hello Reesha! 👋🏻 I’m so glad you finally bought yourself a copy of Lady Audley’s Secret from the Penguin English Library edition with the design of teapots! 😊 It reminds me that tea is your favorite drink of all time while having a break, at the cozy place, etc. 🍵 And I finally tried it for the first time which is now one of my favorite drink besides iced tea! ❤️

Never thought I'd see Sohbat in a booktube video and it looks amazing! As always, lovely vlog and I'm tempted to look for Marriage by Susan Ferrier!

What a gorgeous vlog, and interesting to hear about your Jane Austen July progress. Fascinating to hear about your first impression of the Iliad - I've not read any ancient literature but really want to at some point. So thank you for the advice there, and thank you also for reminding me of the existence of the movie Troy, which I was absolutely obsessed with when it came out. I was 13 and may have had a poster of Orlando Bloom on the wall of my bedroom at the time 😂
I completely agree with your assessment of Marriage. It shouldn't be compared with Austen, and, like you, I found it interesting and amusing in its own way, but it doesn't come near the genius and masterful crafting of Austen's work.
(btw I thought the audio from the lapel mic was great)

sadly, I'm in the middle of finals so I won't be able to participate in the reading rush, but I love your book choices!

you are absolutely right about the translations of greek myths! I have the iliad in the same translation as you and it's such a hard one. but I guess since you're enjoying it so much I can give it another try😊 please do keep us updated🙏🏻

also the opening scenes were so soothing and lovely♥ and when you sniffed the new book... 😌 delightful!

yay for long vlogs! yours are always so fun and lovely♡ and the audio quality was so good! thank you for putting do much effort into your videos😭

We enjoy watching your book recommendations and listening to your thoughts on books you have read. You have inspired me to read more classics. Currently I am wanting to read Little Women before watching the movie.

Such a beautiful vlog! The time just flew by. I hope you like Mansfield Park and Lady Audley’s Secret. I love them both. I was waiting for your opinion on Marriage before I ordered it but you convinced me that I would enjoy it. I read the book Nine Pints that you were looking at in the book shop. It’s nine chapters about different aspects of blood and some were fab and some less so. The chapter on leeches was my favourite. Thanks Deb 🌺

I know I say it every time but I love your vlogs!! I hope you enjoy Lady Audley's Secret--I read it for Victober last year and really loved it. It is a lot of fun. The Iliad is one of my all-time favorites. Have you ever done a video on your style of annotating and note-taking? I think that would be really interesting!

Such a lovely peaceful vlog :) your audio is good with the mic, sometimes it was a little quiet but I think that might be because it was caught under a fold of your headscarf! I’d never heard of a reading rush before this video so I’m off to do some research! :)

Once again, a really lovely reminded me of the beauty of our ordinary and mundane routines in our daily lives. I was jealous of the bookshops; I live in Oman (Salalah) and we have NO bookshops. We are also about to begin a 2 week long strict lockdown and curfew (deep sigh); not easy with 2 small children. Reading is my solace. Can I ask, when it comes to Charles is your favourite novel? (Your "yo, what's up?" was classic!!!!)
