What is a Wiring Diagram and How to Read it?
Do you have struggles reading and using an electrical wiring diagram? If yes, don't worry! By end of this video, you'll have a good understanding of how to read, understand, and use any wiring diagram for your benefit.

An electrical wiring diagram could be a single-page schematic of how a ceiling fan should be connected to the power source and its remote switches so that we can turn it on and off.

A wiring diagram may include the wiring of a vehicle. For example, how the horns are powered and connected to the controller on your steering wheel.

Or an electrical wiring diagram can be a 200-page document including all the electrical wirings of an electrical control panel in a huge factory or plant.

Wiring diagrams may follow different standards depending on the country they are going to be used. They may have different layouts depending on the company and the designer who is designing that.

They also may be drawn by different ECAD software such as EPLAN or AutoCAD electrical. So, when you see a wiring diagram for the first time, you may need some time to analyze it and become familiar with its layout and symbols.

During this video, you'll learn about different things like wire tags and some electrical components and their symbols such as terminal blocks, terminal strips, circuit breakers, power supplies, ground chassis, safety relays, and so on.

This is honestly the first useful IEC wiring diagram tutorial I have ever seen and I have looked occasionally for several years. Reading these diagrams is something most must learn on-the-job, so this is a great tool for speeding up that process. This is even great for seasoned controls workers in the US where we usually use the horizontal ladder style and IEC drawings from Europe can be unfamiliar.

I cant thank you enough for this tutorial. I kid you not, my eyes are opened. I ask, where has this video been all the while? Reading my plant's wiring diagrams just got interesting. The once complex diagram now looks simpler to me. May abundant blessings overwhelm your life!

I built & wired assembly lines for 20 years. They were up to 300' long & 2 stories high fo the automotive industry.Actually worked on the last relay logic & first computer controlled machine that our company built. Also spent 3 years wiring relay panels. So, yeah I can do it!!

It is a brilliant video tutorial related to the IEC wiring diagrams reading I've ever seen. You show how to tracking device by column and page, in some drawings they have row designated by letter A, B, C ... So could you explain how to use both row and column. Thank you from Bangkok, Thailand.

This popped up on my suggested videos, I design machines for manufacture in the Semiconductor industry, sign off electrical diagrams (mostly for machines already in the field, but have to be upgraded with additional parts), install upgrades, trouble shoot all types of problems eg, electrical, robotic, mechanical, software etc. My main area of expertise is the thinning of silicon wafers and etching machines using either wet chemicals or dry plasma. Your video is very familiar work for me, even for complex machines, if you can completely understand the basics, then the rest is not much harder. Good work!
