I went Sedevacantist for many years after the election of pope Francis. It's a dead end. I recently came back to the Church.

I recently unfollowed a gentleman who called Pope Francis Satan's Pope. I was floored, yet he calls himself a "Traditional Catholic".

It breaks my heart to see priests fall down this dark path. These men need our prayers now more than ever.

Don't go down the sedevacantist rabbit hole. Don't.

I was there, thankfully, for only a little over 2 years but it's not a good place to be both spiritually or mentally. You treat everyone with suspicion rather than charity and become consumed with spiritual pride. I believe my example did more damage to my wife's perception (she's agnostic) of Catholicism and the Church than bring her closer to Christ. Please pray for me and my wife and family.

Seems to me that what the sedevacantists really long for is some kind of time machine that will transport them back 70 or 75 years (to 1950 or 1955, let's say) so that they can perpetually live during the pontificate of Pope Pius XII.

Protestant here, although investigating Roman-Catholicism at the moment. Sedevacantist arguments sort of strike at the heart of Catholicism's appeal (living Magisterium guiding the Church), and they're basically the same arguments Luther made in the 16th century, although I'd argue that Luther made his case at an even more turbulent and difficult moment for the Church, and his argument was stronger than current Sedevacantism as a result.

Father Altman's spirit has always seemed disturbed to me. Just an opinion but he seems mad and weird and full of himself.

This is on the same level as my dad's anti-catholic arguments when he tried to stop me from converting. "People in the church did a bad thing once so it's not true."

I am offended by Fr Altman’s rudeness and disrespect toward the office of the Pope, bishops, and other priests. He shouldn’t say “Bergoglio” and “Cupich”. Based on that, I can’t even listen to him. He has automatically lost his argument.

The argument presented by Altman in one of his available videos is that Bergoglio has attracted automatic excommunication according to the decrees of the Council of Trent because he has permitted the reception of communion by persons in a state of mortal sin. This, and not the very general arguments Altman has put forward, is what requires your attention. Perhaps somewhere in your presentation you deal with this. If so, please be kind enough to point it out to me.

I'm deeply confused. For those who say the seat has been vacant since, IDK, three or more pope's before Francis or since Vatican II... Does that mean the very own ordination of this sedevacantists as priests and bishops, etc. Is invalid? Or how do they make sense of it?
