Our Lord brought me to your video Fr Rodriguez as I have been looking into the Divine Mercy Chaplet and trying to decide if praying it instead of praying the Rosary would be wise. Your clear explanation and wise words have helped me tremendously - God bless you. Traditional prayers are so fulfilling just as they are - thank God.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

God is merciful, but he is also just. To avoid confusions pray to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for both His Mercy and Justice, not only for the former one. It is a devotion free of any doubt.

By their fruits you will know them. I have had many powerful experiences testifying to the authenticity of the Divine Mercy Devotion. My brother in law was dying in a coma, and in the hospital room, I prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet for him. I heard him talk to me telepathically--he repented of his sins. I believe that Jesus saved him even though before this he rejected the Catholic faith: Mercy for the dying is a promise of the DM devotion. Jesus promised tremendous graces to those who prayed the chaplet. I believe that the DM Chaplet is a multiplier--it multiplies your graces. Do not deprive yourself of this powerful devotion. Just like devotion to the Blessed Mother, it does not decrease devotion to the rosary, but increases it. When I was praying the DM Chaplet, I was also praying the rosary more consistently. When I started praying the DM chaplet more often, I also prayed the rosary more often. It is also easier to introduce Protestants to the Catholic faith with the DM devotion. This devotion was approved by the Catholic Church after much scrutiny. Catholic Church approval under JPII--good enough for me.

The only concern I have is that many people may confuse God's mercy with permissiveness.

All devotions have a starting point. Traditional devotions are traditional, but were not always. The Divine Mercy Chaplet has changed my life and my heart. I was a bitter angry person and through this Chaplet, my heart and mind have been changed through Gods Grace. I am a changed person and consider the Divine Mercy Chaplet a gift to me and my family. What I needed most was to understand that God forgives me and it seemed that I held myself guilty even after confession. The Chaplet was the gift that let me see that Gods Mercy is sufficient and if He can forgive my sins, I must forgive myself too.

Sage advice Fr. I've had a multitude of concerns regarding the Divine Mercy devotion. I've decided to err on the conservative and focus on the traditional devotions as you suggest. May God continue to bless and keep you.

Divine Mercy brought me back to the Church after over 20 years. It encouraged me to embrace traditional Catholicism and pray the Rosary every day. There are fruits but you won't find them if you're not looking. St. Faustina Kowalska, pray for us.

I love Fr Rodriguez - I appreciate him guiding us and encouraging us to use discernment - I am a Traditional Catholic and yet Divine Mercy Devotion fills me with joy, the deceiver tried to stop it. This year my Lost daughter is doing it and a couple of my Lost extended family, I pray that afterwards they will be Found. Thank you again Father, a very Good Shepherd.

The first time I said the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, all of my sins came to mind, and I was in the next available Confession. I had not been to Confession in years. I now attend mass every day, and I pray during any free time I have. I recite the chaplet everyday as it was a huge part of my conversion.i was a hardened sinner living in grave sin, It is a very powerful prayer. Please, people, stop finding fault with it.

I respectfully disagree with Father Rodriguez. Just because a devotion is relatively new, that does not make it suspect. The Divine Mercy devotion is directly responsible for my reversion back to the Catholic faith fifteen years ago. I was convicted by the Holy Spirit to list out certain sins (later found out they were mortal sins) and “told” to go to confession. The next possible date was the Saturday after Easter. I arrived at my old church shaking in my shoes because I didn’t know what to do, hadn’t been to confession since I was a child, and there were lines everywhere for different confessors. I made my confession and was told for my penance to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet with the other parishioners. I had no idea what the Chaplet was, anything about the Divine Mercy devotion- nothing! It was after I realized how God had led me to that particular church on that particular day and all the promises He made regarding the Chaplet came true that I cried because of His great love and mercy for me, a sinner.

Divine Mercy brought my conversion my husbands conversion and my two adult children to the Catholic Church. Through this we have discovered Fatima and Sacred Heart and many beautiful devotions. Whatever brings souls to God is good but through saying the Rosary every day also brings strength to your faith. God Bless you all

Respectfully all prayers mentioned in this video are important especially the rosary. But Jesus Himself had asked to make His mercy known to all. The Divine Mercy has special meaning to me. It draws us closer to the mercy of God.

My husband and I could not conceive for 4 yrs even after undergoing surgery to repair my uterus the doctors said the surgery failed. I prayed to Our Blessed Mother and put a petition at her house in Ephesus Turkey on September 21 2009 and I prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet everyday at the 3 o’clock hour as our Lord requested to St Faustina. 1 year to that date my doctors office called and said I was expecting and I believe there is no coincidence. Through the intersession of our Blessed Mother and asking for Gods mercy the Lord had mercy on me and I was able to conceive. Years later God blessed me with 2 more children. I believe in Gods mercy.
Fr Chris has some exceptional videos and really brought me closer to learning about our faith. God bless all priests and the devotions they help us understand and become aware of.

This is amazing. Everyone has been promoting the divine mercy chaplet, but I was never really enthusiastic about praying it. I was thinking there was something wrong with me! The prayers Father read were beautiful! I had not heard most of them before, but now I must seek them out. 👍
I'm finding that sometimes in the past something just didn't sit right with me but could not expla why. Like - communion in the hand, extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist distributing Communion - especially women, girl altar servers, the sign of peace (ugh! 😩), Mimicking the gestures of the priests, guitar music at Mass (which I actually would play at Mass 🤦), etc... I would go along with all this but it never felt quite right. This past 2 yrs, little by little, these things have been revealed to me - WHY I've been annoyed by these things. Now I know why. So I'm trying to change some things I have been doing as well, & trying to listen to the little voice that says, this just ain't right!
Thank you to this priest - El Paso is so blessed to have him!

Offering the "body, blood, soul, and divinity" of Jesus for the atonement of sins is a traditional prayer, Eucharistic in spirit and best done in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

Thankyou Fr. Michael, for daring to speak the truth, and not being afraid of being unpopular by the laity.

I’m so tired, so very, very tired of all the confusion, separation and divisiveness amongst us all. It’s so painful. I will continue to pray each and every day for His Mercy on us all. 🙏🏼
