Thanks for the tips! I clean & store my lettuce much the same as you. I soak mine in cold water with a large amount of table salt. I find the salt helps crisp up the leaves. After about 10 minutes or when I remember I rinse each leaf off quickly and put them into a salad spinner. I then use either the veggie zip lock bags with paper towel in it or place it in a large Tupperware container and store in the fridge. My lettuce will last for weeks like this.

You can layer your greens in cloth dishtowels/napkins too, to save paper & money

I am very impressed with the amount of food you are producing in that small space. I am also impressed with the results you are getting with the Good Dirt you used to fill your containers. I’m definitely going to order some. I am already using the Vermisterra products. They do a great job. Throw in your talent and you have a winning combination. Thank you for this series and happy gardening.

Love this thanks so much. On impulse I got a dying tiny tub of mixed varieties from bunnings. Looked very sick. Under a good light in my grow tent and its grown massive, so fresh too. In a fabric 5 gallon pot. Awesome.

So helpful! Thank you 🙏🏽 I planted a whole bunch of organic lettuces (as small plants)...all of them sprouted stalks with flowers and tastes horrible. I didn’t know what the issue was. So glad I learned this. Newbie gardener so I’m eager to learn!

I keep adding more and more to my small space area. Just got two more hanging window box planters for the fence and got some heat tolerant lettuce going. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been watching your vids and others for close to 7 or 8 years. Since I started thinking about container gardening. So thank you for the info.

This one is new to me. And I started growing lettuce the last 2 summers. I tried earlier, but the rabbits kept eating it. So the notion of harvesting it so it keeps grown is very helpful. Since what you describe happened the last 2 years and I had to keep replanting the lettuce.

I do have to say. While homegrown lettuce is better. I don't mind eating it out of the store. Or radishes, onions or cucumbers. It's not as good. But tomatoes in the winter suck.

I love your videos. I learn so much, thank you. I have a yard but I live in the desert so I plant everything in containers. I’m so glad you introduced me to smart pots. Everything is growing nicely in spite of the heat. I harvested my first crops of tomatoes, eggplant, and cucumbers. Happy desert dweller here😋🌿🌱

My method is a bit different, I put the harvested lettuce leaves in an ice water bath will about 3 tbs of salt. I let it rest until all the ice is melted. The salt kill the bug and critters. Then I spin it dry, but I have found using a rung out wet paper towel in a zip lock plastic bag allows the lettuce to remain crisp and tasty for about 2 wks.
