My parents were married in 1967. On the way to the wedding my late Uncle (a commercial pilot), was going a little too fast on the highway and got pulled over. The Officer, who didn’t know my Uncle, approached the vehicle and said “Ok flyboy let’s see your pilots licence”. So, he showed the Officer his pilot’s licence. The Officer laughed and let him go. Thankfully, because my Uncle didn’t even HAVE a driver’s licence. LOL :)

I can't be the only one who gets real pissed off about watching a 20 minute video to see what was in the thumbnail and it's not there!

If you're going to make an aviation video, at least acquire some knowledge on the subject before adding a commentary, or was this video aimed at 5 to 8 year olds?

*The first time flying on an airplane be like ... **13:15*

None were unbelievable enough for a thumbnail, so a photoshop pic had to lure you in.

3:38 that’s an US fighter with the VMFA-211 (US Marines), not a British fighter. 😂

The helicopter that was being landed on that rocking ship is barely big enough to contain the pilot's balls.

10:30. The door opening on a small plane is absolutely no big thing. It will only open about two inches. The plane is not pressurized. Depending on airplane, you can usually close and lock it.

that helo landing on a pitching and rolling ship is .... incredible

3:30: USMC F-35B on the HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH launching! You can see U.S. military markings! But still awesome to see! Go royal navy and u.s.m.c.!

Technically that's a U.S. fighter jet (F-35B) but no worries since you, our beloved cousins built the Kestrel/ Harrier platform

So much so I'm too embarrassed for you yo keep watching... plus my understanding of what the obvious facts are might get wrapped by your lack.

During my days in the US Navy, I rode on a British Destroyer and watched the helo's land in rough weather. They have a 'plug' under the helicopter that will grab into a mesh deck on the helo pad.

It's centrifugal force keeps the liquid in the cup. Even when the jet was corkscrew rolling while still doing the loop, the loop was were the centrifugal force was generated from.

We love cool aviation videos. That said, we won't be watching any more of yours as long as you continue to use a thumbnail that isn't even in the video!

6:27 it's pretty easy. The jet is doing a high G-force turn (in this case they do a loop at high spped at a "tight" turn radius). Gravity is basically just the aceleration towards the earth (9.81m/s² wich is also called 1G). If your turn reaches an acceleration of over 1G you can make this happen. It is the same principle that is used in 0G flights where a plane has a high climb rate and at the top they force the nose down. That creates negative G. If the plane reaches 1G towards the sky the 1G towards the earth and the 1G towards the sky cancel each other out wich causes the plane to have 0G for a short moment.

Working as a tradie on the Townsville base ( in Australia) was absolutely amazing back in the day...at smoko we would watch the Black Hawks do their training, hover then rip off into the sky like a beast possessed...crazy stuff! Thanks for this one 👍

6:11 they're obviously doing a loop and pulling consistent Gs so that, no matter which direction they're travelling, anything within the plane is experiencing approximately 2x the force of gravity, which overcomes the force of gravity itself. I believe this is a good demonstration of centrifugal force (I always get centrifugal and centripetal force mixed up).

At 3:30 that is not a royal Air Force plane, it clearly American, maybe in your wet dreams that’s y’all’s plane.

0.52 That's exactly why interstate highways are built the way that they are. One of the specified uses for the system is as an emergency landing strip, and as a temporary air base during times of war should the need arise.
