Why didn't he record the moment the thing went away?

I don't see enough here to make a determination on what it might be. It might not have been as large and as far away as it appears. It might have been an object (like an insect) closer to the viewer than it appeared. I'm not saying it is an insect but I don't know what else was around the person making the film. Some zooming in, filming birds, filming the view on the ground of the city does not prove the position of the object in the sky. I don't see a triangle necessarily. The close up view looks similar to an artillery shell with the pointed end to the right and the back end to the left being somewhat curved inward.

Interesting video! The motionless nature of it & that fact it stayed for so long reminds me of a balloon - although the dark coloring and unusual shape are odd. It’s too bad he did not film it going away.
