Hii…
I have worked in Antarctica for 1 year. I was chef in Indian research stations in Antarctica.
It was amazing experience working there.

Unbelievable. We will go to extraordinary lengths to preserve a continent with little life on it yet the rest of the world with all kinds of ecosystems and life we just trash.

The first 20 seconds are brilliant; with the quick cut from warm, desert colors to snowy.

Mad respect to all of them on the ice shelf. I was on the edge of my seat. The entire time. Amazing footage.
I wish we kept the rest of the planet this clean. ❤

Only 11 minutes in and there’s already been measurements in Fahrenheit, miles, football fields and school buses.

There should be a real life series of the day to day lives of scientists working on Antarctica

And someone is talking about how we are going to colonize Mars, and we are not even able to live in the Antarctic just like that, and we have the most important thing - air and water in abundance.

National Geographic channel is the best and nice photography. Hard working channel to bring out the actuals in very adverse situation in nature also.

There are explorers, and then there are documentary explorers. After watching this....I am glad I belong to the second category. But Nat Geo sure makes it in style. Cheers to hardwork and perseverance.

The frozen desert called Antarctica has vast areas that are much warmer than the rest of the continent. There’s hundreds of square miles where there is no snow and fresh water lakes free of ice according to the the US Navy. They were discovered in the 1940’s during Operation High Jump and shown in the academy award winning film “The Secret Land”.
