so at No. five is meditation for thousands of years now we've known the benefits of meditation the practice of meditation can be different for each person but generally involves quiet focus breathing exercises in which the practitioner is able to get into a state of mental calm regardless of if you believe that this mental calm is a enlightened state of consciousness no one can deny the benefits of relaxed focused breathing certain medical scans have revealed that regular meditation also affects the structure of the brain researchers believe that memory function attention span and focus all benefit from meditation

coming in at No. four is exercise your brain the brain like many other parts of the body needs regular exercise to maintain its strength some more common brain strengthening activities include crosswords and seducers there are other more academic ways as well like completing worded maths questions and exercises relating to spatial relationships and geometry even things as simple as watching and listening to this video gives your brain a slight workout the kind of workout you get when you carry grocery bags back home even simple things like mixing up your routine is a way of exercising your way things like brushing your teeth with your other hand or finding a different route to work or school forces your brain to work harder than usual and forcing your brain to a car than usual is ultimately what you want to do

and finally number one is take care of your body the human body is all connected so you can't take care of one part of it without other parts benefiting physical exercise is important for good health this goes for both the body and the brain simply increasing your blood flow kicks up the oxygen and glucose levels in the brain the coordination it takes to perform an exercise also gives your brain a workout especially if you're trying to do something new food is also important there are many foods that have been associated with brain health this includes fish oil eggs proteins and dark green vegetables green tea herbal tea and nuts are also good brain food eating well requiring the right amount of sleep and doing exercises both physically and mentally are the main keys to improving memory and overall brain function

My brother has been taking fish oil since he was ten for his medical condition. Also my grandmother cannot have many green foods due to one of her medical conditions.

Excellent, I do all of this already. Sadly, however there is still the nature/nurture effect when it comes to intelligence.

Rather than a whiteboard, I keep multiple notepads to take notes as I study different topics of interest. This helps me organize the material as I jump from subject to subject but having good notes allows me to keep a nice linear path in each topic. I use them often for reference as well--I write down things I want to learn in such a way that helps me to visualize the concept or otherwise helps the idea to "stick" (mnemonics, tables, analogies, etc.). As for my _maths_, I keep a notebook that is specifically for scratch work. The entire notebook is filled with problems worked out, quiz answers, etc.

know what its for the 1st time i saw this video --- I actually do Meditation for an hour, Solve Sudoku, walk 6 km plus exercise and sleep for 6 to 8 hours, math is off course the unavoidable part - which i have been doing from last year the results are stunning. I am really surprised to see this video (for so many similarities in u and me) Last but not the least - White board marker is where my daily activities are for uploading this video

I currently eat 20 pounds of dirt everyday, deadlift 250 lp every day, sleep 17 hours per day, and mediate the rest, drink water, eat dark green vegtables, and eat fish oil. Imma genius.

A brain exercise tip. Get a mini camcorder. Go outside and slowly walk around the block while the camcorder is recording. When you get back to your starting point go back into the house and review first what you remembered in as minute detail as possible. Write it all down in a notebook. Draw a map. Then review what you recorded to see what you did and didn't recall. Do this for seven days. Then repeat the whole procedure walking the other way round. Then the next block over.
In this way you use words, images, spatial memory, concepts, regular memory, imagination, ..etc. In short; your whole brain. To make it more challenging try to recall the last thing you viewed first and work forward to the first thing you recalled last. Be sure to record your experience with all your senses. Flowers, color shape, size, numbers, fragrant, what taste they remind you of, what sound they remind you of...etc. Good luck.

yes.
mostly just sitting in a quit room doing a breathing exercise.
NO!!!
like you said different for everyone. and even if you sit in a room, you don't have to do a breathing exercise. that's just a way of distraction from all your other thoughts, and thoughts are GOOD during meditation. only not the ones that make you anxious the RANDOM thoughts are good.
and if you get in your own world by dancing, running, making music, painting/crafting, listening to that one song (most at the time this is classic music. since no distracting lyrics) or doing something else that makes you forget time, in your own world.
then THAT is your kind of meditation (being on the internet or any other device doesn't count. since that aren't YOUR thoughts, not YOUR ideas)
