Russian FAB-500 'flying bomb' becomes Zelensky's new headache | Ukraine virtually 'defenseless'

Ukraine is worried about a new threat from Russia as it prepares for a much-anticipated counteroffensive. Reports say that Ukrainian troops have issued a warning about Russians using modified FAB-500 aerial bombs near the front lines. Ukrainian officials admit that Kyiv's forces are incapable of intercepting them.

For those who don't know. FAB-500 and FAB-1500 are just a WW2 era bombs that were used to throw down from the planes like a rocks from right above the target. With modern air defences its obviously hard to fly right above enemy position. So Russia is just fixing some wings on these bombs for gliding for about 40-50 kms. So you can imagine how much cheaper they can be compared to Caliber missiles. Russia probably has a huge stockpiles of these bombs from Soviet era. They just have to get more of these presision guided wings. I believe this combination wasn't integrated in Russian military prior to conflict in Ukraine.
