I always knew porcelain was delicate when being handled but I never actually knew just how gentle you have to be with it to be able to make the form you wanted it to be, it’s always amazing seeing you work on stuff you haven’t worked on yet, I have so much respect for you

Your pieces are, in a very delicate way, straightforward and honest. Because of your great content, I started to watch other potters here on YouTube, but I still like your style the most. It has an elegance and style that is easy on the eye, like a fine classic suit or a beautiful red evening dress.

Totally agree on finishing the base! People make comments about it in the studio, but I realized awhile back that I always pick pieces up and turn them over.

If I am having a day that I am overwhelmed by studio work and or a bad mental health day your videos center me (pardon the pun!) and calm my mind. All the therapy I need. Thank you :)

The cup at the end that you tap on is so beautiful.

Good video. Porcelain really is a different animal to tame.

Since today I am ill while watching this, I am only now wondering, how do you deal with illnesses/injuries and the timed nature of your job? Do you have anyone that can, for example, come in and spray water or put plastic on the stuff you have thrown, in case you get ill?

I’m so curious as to what you will do with the porcelain and how they’ll ultimately fire. There must be a reason you chose to return to the medium, can’t wait to see what you make!

I'm sure you've heard every joke there is to make about pulling the clay.

I was trained with porcelain stoneware... so it's the best of both worlds. However, I now struggle with coarse clay with grog, and porcelain. I mean, stoneware is easy to throw... but I feel like finishing brings out th grog, and scratches the piece. I know I'm probably the only one to notice tho, but as potters, we are perfectionists. I accidentally bought 100 lbs of porcelain recently... and I never realized that trimming was such a major part of the process. Great video! I noticed that you use a lot of plastic. Do you not have a damp room/box?

Ooh nice more porcelain, this will be nice to watch. I'm curious about the thermal properties of porcelain vs stoneware with how long a mug retains heat

ive just gotten some old bone dry porcelain from the clay studio (currently drying after rehydrating it); lucky timing w this upload ! funnily enough, the potter who runs the clay department brought your channel up just last week :)

could you trim using a bisque fired chuck ? or would it cause issues with the chuck drawing too much moisture from the piece ? and as always, thank you for another thorough, informative video !!

Can you see yourself ever loving to work with porcelain as much as you clearly love working with stoneware? If so, can you foresee a time when you would only work exclusively with porcelain? Thanks so much! I always learn a great deal from your videos and recommend them to my fellow students in my pottery courses!

I would love it if you could give an approximation of thickness in millimeters. Also, please continue your content...it brings me much joy!
