Harbor freight welder VS Harbor freight Welder

Testing out the two cheapest flux core welder from Harbor freight. Is one better than the other??

If you put the cone back on the MIG tip you won't get that splatter, even though you aren't using gas it helps to keep the protective cloud from the flux in the wire from blowing away with any breeze or light wind. Great job Dave, love the vids! ~much love

I've owned both. As a certified welder years ago, the Titanium welder is head and shoulders above the Chicago, no comparison to the weld quality. Using a good quality flux core wire is key. A guy can use the cheap stuff it comes with, but they do splatter much more than a good wire.

For somebody new to welding game you are doing great. You will figure things out as you go along and learn. yes, you will make mistakes, but that is how you learn. From a retired welder of over 55 years please wear some kind of breathing mask. I didn't, now my lungs are messed up. The last 35 years was welding stainless steel and aluminum tanks. Just like your videos of chainsaw work you protect your ears and eyes why not your lungs. Keep up the great work and videos.

That cone tip burns off the oxygen around the weld point. The flux wire helps with that process. Us Old time welders block the wind from getting to the weld. Every little tip helps.

I bought the green one about a year ago, if you need to weld mufflers this is the machine for you! I like the fact you don't have to buy gas! I also used 0.30 wire because of welding thin medal.thanks for the review!

Bought the old blue Chicago welder 6-7 years ago $99 on sale. I had hit a stump mowing grass in an unfamiliar yard and broke a suspension bracket off my mower deck . Called to price the deck shell it was $200 plus. Went and bought that welder did my first ever weld with it stuck that bracket back on back to mowing next day. Saved a $100 bucks and a bunch of time fixing that mower and got welder out of the deal. Have used it a bunch since. My welds aren’t great but a grinder and paint makes them ok. Stuff works when I am done!
