They channeled Mario Galaxy really hard with this game, but it wasn't as good.

I actually love this game. Yeah it has some sloppy level design in places but I think the overall feel of it (graphics, music, the way Sonic handles, etc) is very polished and fun to play. Not too fast, not too slow.

I find most of the new Sonic titles way too fast and linear but this is one that seems to hit a near-perfect balance. Not as good as SA2 in my opinion, but an excellent game overall :)
