Footage is released of the moment a bystander tackled a machete wielding robber after a smash-and-grab raid on a luxury City of London jewellers.

I love how everyones criticising the suit guy's technique. He didn't know the robber had a machette, he brought it out just as he got him in the headlock, suit guy saw it and dodged. If you ask me I'd say pretty good reactions from the suit guy, if he held on for a second longer he would have been stabbed by a 15inch blade...but let's keep taking about what WE would have done better lol

It’s a jewellers, they’re insured, don’t risk your life for a business that doesn’t care and definitely won’t compensate you to the full amount deserved if injured.

He's lucky the robber wasn't out to harm him. He had a clear swing but he just used the weapon to deter him.
