'Brave' off-duty volunteer police officer disarms suspected gunman in Birmingham

An off-duty volunteer police officer has been hailed as 'brave' after disarming a suspected gunman in Birmingham.

Special constable Abdullah Bin Imad was on his way to eat when he he saw two men acting suspiciously in a coffee shop in Birmingham City centre.

Caught myself watching the clip twice – a reminder to question my own biases. It's fascinating how preconceived notions due to constant media bias can influence our perception. In this case, I initially assumed the Asian/mid eastern man 'Abdullah' was the 'bad guy, ' only to realise he was the hero.
