Legend has it Merph is still wrestling tall stacks of books to this day.

Man, that's a whole lot of books. I aspire to get a bookshelf I could fit that much.

the end reminds me of my mom's "as many books as you can carry" rule for the library in elementary school

I love Jim Butcher. I finally read the Aeronauts Windlass and it was really good too. Not that I should be surprised. Harry Dresden and Codex Alera are both amazing. You’ll love them!

I laughed so hard at the end of this. I should say that what you heard about Watership Down is 100% correct. There are mentions of rabbits getting hurt including one getting caught in a trap and the former nest getting gassed. Not that I would discourage you from reading it, it is brilliant. It is just dark in places.

Oh I love Speak! It had a huge impact in me. I really hope you will like it.

You have the Penguin Hardcover version of Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo! I love that version. Not only is it unabridged but the translator, Robin Buss, is phenomenal! His translation is so rich and palpable. It's one of my favorite books. I hope you enjoy it!

the end is me everytime, haha I love it! I've heard Backman talk and he is just so intentional and very funny.

That segment in the end of you trying to hold up all your books just made my day 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Merphy having trouble with her books is me struggling with college, life, and other responsibilities.

You'll love the unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo. I read both versions, and the unabridged version is my favorite.

First Elliot, then Daniel, and now Merphy starting Malazan? All within a couple of months? This is the best timeline!

Magic the gathering books are generally written for their coinciding card set releases. The stories are generally awesome.

I finished the first Codex Alera book last week and it's alright. There's plenty of action, and Butcher writes amazing fight scenes so that's great, but it comes at the cost of never really getting to know the characters. I still intend on reading the next book in October.

I picked up a new paperback of The Lies of Locke Lamora so I can reread it and annotate it. I've only read the prologue so far but it's like going home.

I also bought The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham (half of the writing duo of the Expanse series), the first book in The Dagger and the Coin series. I remember picking it up as a teenager and loving it but getting bored. Now that I've read much bigger and slower novels it should be a cake walk!

LOLs I got a kick out of the struggle to lift all those books at the end. Expands the meaning of awkward! As long as you're laughing at yourself, it's all good. Thanks for your suggestions.
I don't know how you read so fast. I'm going to have to step up my game.

Love seasonal hauls! I do them as well, it allows me to do some reviewing of some of the books I bought, which I think makes hauls more interesting. Also did a haul revisit recently, so I can focus on books I've bought that I haven't read, and start taking responsibility for that! Was a super fun video to make, would recommend trying it! lol, loved "if this doesn't work, I'm quitting BookTube."

Ahhh! I wasn't expecting to see 20th Century Boys here. I absolutely loved that manga, knocked my cotton socks off. So glad you're reading it and I hope you continue to enjoy!

I found Things my son needs to know about the world in my favorite second hand store this month and I almost screamed. I have wanted to read it for so long. Backman is one of my favorite authors too but it's the first one of his works that I own.

Children of the Nameless is a Magic the Gathering novella by Brandon Sanderson, if you want something you know you'll like to introduce you to the world before the more hard-core MTG books.
