there was no way we were traveling to ireland on a bookish whim and NOT doing a lil book shopping spree! mainly (and quite giddily) bought some yummy sounding Irish novels ... with a few worthy exceptions. penguin modern classics are my weakness, do you hear me!

giovanni's room is one of the few books i recommend to anyone, i think it's in my all time top 10 books, i'm almost done with life of the mind and might pick up evenings and weekends next, as that description sounded very promising! looking forward to some guatemala vlogs (if they are anything like the iconic cdmx vlogs hehe)

Soldier Sailor tore me in two! Also Evenings and Weekends is one of my favorites that I’ve read this year. And Brooklyn is incredible—a classic! Great haul xx

I am portuguese and Fernando Pessoa is required reading for us here in school. His writing is absolutely fascinating and the lore around his writing process is even more interesting because he created multiple personalities within himself (with different names, ages and backgrounds) and wrote completely different vibes of poetry with each one in mind. I really hope you like it!!

I always love your taste in books. Panenka was very good. I bought his other book, Leonard and Hungry Paul but haven’t gotten around to reading it. If Beales Street Could Talk is a good start. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip.

eep the Baldwin box set!!! i'm always one to save the best for last, and Giovanni's Room is stellar in this regard, but also, should always be someone's first Baldwin! so what i'm saying is, read Giovanni's Room to love Baldwin and to read it again to love him even more hehe

Hiii! I left my phone in the other room while I watched this b/c I was not going to add more books to my TBR 😂 (I’ll come back to this again and add…There are some things I want to read 😅).

Loved the PR boxes! I got an arc for Long Island Compromise, and I ended up DNFing…Can’t wait to see what you think when you get to it.

Loved the cien años de soledad edition!! I have the 50th anniversary edition and it’s the prettiest book I own 😊
