i was 15 back then when I first watched this. I'm 25 years old now but I'm still here watching it. I hope I can play this cover soon!!! :)

The fact that he went balls to wall in this cover reminds me why I started drumming in the first place, to get a hold of myself and align myself when I was falling apart. The raw emotion drumming can bring out in someone when they're passionate about a song. This cover touches me in a deep, emotional level. Keep being great, man. Going to go practice now! ❤

Bro!! I can't actually find the right words to express my drummer envy. There's drummers and then there's this guy.

Even after 4 years I always end up on this video when looking at drum covers. Will always be my favourite one ever.

for all of you saying he needs to calm down or stop hitting his drums so hard just shut up seriously. its called passion. quit ranting about it on youtube just because you can't do it.

I don't understand why most people are saying he doesn't have any talent just because of the way he is acting while playing the drums. I believe everyone has a different way of playing. Some just like to play drums without any exaggerated movements, others do.
He definitely knows how to play more than those at home typing away negative comments.

For anyone who's saying he has no dynamics, he broke down with the song and played a bossa nova groove mid-song. It's a dubstep remix folks. He's playin with the energy of the song. Yes he is beating the hell out of those drums. It's because that's the vibe of the song. He's got chops, flare, and rudimentary skills. Why is that something to hate on? Would it have been better if he was some deadbeat playing with no expression? Come on folks, it's a new day of entertainment. Stop hating, especially if you can't play the drums. :).

Lot of people criticizing him for jumping around and being a performer. Hard to break it to you all, but an awful lot of drumming is about what your body is doing, not necessarily what you're playing. I'm a drummer as well, and though I don't act as much as this guy, there are definitely things I do to convey a certain mood or intensity given the song I'm playing. It makes it more fun and involving!

As for the technicality here: there's not a lot. It's not intended to be technical. Most of this is not hard to do, it's all fairly straightforward "YouTube" drumming. Flashy, intended to entertain. I'd bet any amount of money that he would agree if asked. This is a great example of a YouTube drum cover, and I doubt he wanted to be a technical showoff.

For the people thinking he's playing the drums too hard, or jumping around too much I feel like there is a difference between just playing something and performing something. Personally, even if it's a bit over the top, I feel he conveys the intensity of the song pretty well.

I remember first watching this about 4 years ago and it’s still one of my favorite videos

He's literally having fun making a sick cover that is not supposed to be in any way dynamic or close to the song. People don't watch dubstep remixes on drums when people play with dynamics and perfect form and crap. This is awesome and just FUN

C'mon, why all the hate comments? This is a DUBSTEP drum cover. You're supposed to play loud because its freakin DUBSTEP! You're supposed to smash the cymbals and the snare and shtuff! :3. In my opinion this is a great cover.

Still find myself coming back to this.
It's RAW.
It's Refined.
It's music in it's purest form.

Call me crazy, but damn this is ART.

I played in marching band with Dylan in high school. He was a monster back then but he's upped his game so much since then. He was always destined to have a career in drumming.

Still watching this in 2019, he put his heart and soul into this cover. Truly talented individual

Dylan Taylor, you are the very definition of grimy. That was disgusting and beautiful at the same time. The amount of energy and emotion that you bring to that drum set turns a simple song/drum cover into something not even of this world. Stay humble, don't forget your roots and keep at it bro. Fuckin' awesome :)
