Many people make the mistake of not using grout caulk in the corners of their tile work. It’s very easy to do and is very important.

Thanks for making this video! I'm a new supervisor for a commercial tile company, and I was having issues with the grout caulk on my latest project. Now I feel like I'm one step closer to becoming an expert 😁

behind my builder caulk is grout. on all seams. I’ve had to replace caulk 4-5 times in 6 years. can’t keep it from getting moldy. it’s a whitish tile shower so really stands out.

Sanded acrylic caulk will not hold up in a shower. You'll get 12 months tops in an everyday use shower environment and the acrylic caulk will soften and disintegrate. You need to get sanded silicone color matched caulk from Colorrite. Or use Latasil Silicone color matched caulk from Laticrete.

I found your channel this morning and you are very talented and I love that you do “professional” instead of halfassing (excuse my language) the work. I’ve watched several of you videos now as I am remodeling my shower ...but not doing the work myself and yes I will be watching my contractor as I inspect his work. Thank you again because I can’t stand seeing silicone caulking in the corners of a shower - that’s not even right... thanks again.

I was expecting you to call out that using Acrylic Caulk was the wrong version. You need 100% Silicon (color matching) to actually give the flexibility you talk about.

Great video!!! It is amazing how many tilers are unaware of this!!!! Holy Sh**t... why do home owners have to tell "professionals" what to do and how to do it? Why are some so stupid?

Love your content sir. If you can, do some videos about starting your business (tiling, painting, etc). I’m a young guy just starting to enter this industry. Thanks again man!

Do you use the same grout caulk around a tub or only walk in showers?

If you do this along those two walls, do you then also apply silicone to that corner (when you silicone the rest of the shower)

so grout caulk is totally different from regular caulk ( like the kind you have between the bathtub and tile wall)?

Does that sanded caulk meet the ASTM C920 industry standard?

Do you know why this is called “grout caulk”. I’m not finding a product named that anywhere.

Amazing video! Thank you! I need help deciding what to do in the middle of a DIY job. I have removed the old grout at the intersection of the wall tile and acrylic bathtub in our bathroom (where tan color tiles meet the white tub in your video). I may have removed too much though, which has prompted me to stop and ask for input. When I slide a business card in the slot (removed grout depth), I measure more than 1/2 inch, which is deeper than the tile's thickness. Did I take some of the concrete backer board? Any advice on what to do at this point is highly appreciated.

Good video, but a bit of room for improvement. Would love for you to show the tube of caulk you are using (display outside the caulking gun - hold it to the camera longer or share a link of exactly the product you are using. Thanks for sharing.

So are you using the grout caulk only as a filler -and then seal with 100% silicone over it or is there no need for that With this method?

I have tiled a concrete pad at my front door. Should I use regular grout or grout caulk? I’m confused.

Appreciate the tip. I’m trying to lear as I go but can’t get that new new look like I want and this little tip is gonna help me out. What if I had a contractor do the grout in the corner and it’s breaking? Do I simply remove it all and apply caulk? Can this be used around the top of the tub and tile meet?
