I have pulled for Kinich, pre-farmed his artifacts and talents, and I so far my experience is a bit similar to Mualani -- pretty good but often infuriating. His scalespiker cannon(Aka the majority of Kinich's damage) fires such a slow moving projectile that it's actually a joke unless you're right in front of your target. Fast moving targets are also a pain because his tether might come loose so you have to dash toward them and lose precious uptime, and this has only happened twice but his initial E press sometimes grapples you away from a nearby enemy instead of latching onto them. And just like Mualani, nightsoul transmission in overworld combat is more of a curse than a blessing and i wish we can just get an option to disable it. And if you fight enemies on an uneven terrain and/or has lots of objects like tents torches boxes his cannon shot CAN hit those instead of your intended target. To me these are minor inconveniences but they do add up, Kinich is strong nonetheless -- and I imagine he will get stronger with more Natlan releases

Edit:
1. It turns out his cannon shot homes in on targets, but will still have a hard time with enemies that can blink
2. I play on PC, so i can imagine movement will be a tad more difficult for mobile players
3. I dont really care about people's opinions, you pull who you want. But the more people share their opinions about a certain character means more insight, so discussion is encouraged

Kinich: use Skill, then Press NA's to build nightsoul faster, use Skill again to fire the big shot when nightsoul is full, use burst after firing the first big shot to possibly get around 4-5 big shots especially when an enemy is burning.

Mualani: use Skill, bump 3 times then bite and repeat.

Such a contrast gameplay between these two lol.

Im gonna pull for him for the most ridiculous reason: Kinich's voice actor is Sasuke's and Ajaw's voice actress is Naruto's. I was laughing my ass off when i heard them in the story mode quests. But his world exploration abilities and combat style seem fun.

Just popping into the comment section in here to talk about a few underrated options for Kinich's teammates. If you dont have Emilie, consider these teammates:

1. Yaoyao. Obviously, she will be a Tenacity holder for the team. But on top of that, she will also generate energy for Kinich to burst every rotation and extend his nightsoul blessing, her C1 gives 15% dendro damage bonus, and she can equip Moonpiercer, which is 16% atk for 12s every 20s, up to 32% atk at R5. Its the Sumeru craftable.

2. Lynette. She is quite an underrated character here. Since Kazuha cant buff dendro, Lynette's 16% atk in Kinich teams, plus the swirling of pyro and application of pyro from her ult's joint attacks make her a good pyro applicator. You dont even need Xiangling. She can also become deepwood user and hold weapons to support her energy, (Fav, Sac sword, or Amenoma [with C4]) or support Kinich like with freedom sworn.
Lynette also groups enemies with the taunt to keep enemies off of Kinich. Kazuha is less desirable as Kinich swinging can disorient enemy AI and Kazuha doesnt continually group enemies. Do recommend C2 to Lynette, and C4 for more QoL in managing ER reqs.

3. Venti. Kinich is fine against a duo of heavy enemies but against scattered hordes of smaller enemies, its rather a pain considering he circles around just one. Venti alleviates that by pulling enemies closer, and gives ER refund for likes of Bennett and Xiangling. Should also help deal AoE damage with Kinich cannon.

Finally someone talking about c1 vs r1! I always wonder which one I should go for if I have any leftover primos, and most guides only show c0 + 4 star weapon, c0r1, and then jump to c1r1, without considering c1 + 4 star weapon

One team that wasn't mentioned here but i absolutely adored is Nahida Thoma Yelan since Kinich's attacks during nightsoul will proc both Thoma and Yelan making it a really fun Burgeon team, and both of them will buff his NA damage output too.

The only way to get 5 shots is using his ult after one shot. Basically Na-E-Q-E-Na-E-Na-E-Na-E
I did not mention no. Of na as that depends on that blindspot luck.

kinich will be better when mavuika release, and for f2p probably pyro traveler will help, i am expecting that the best f2p team will be kinich bennett and pyro traveler, with a 4 slot of a deepwood memories user, personally i will use kinich mavuika emilie and bennett, 2 dendro with 2 pyro, 100% burning uptime with good buffs and good damage

I think kinich and mualani are the two clunkiest character we’ve ever gotten but at the same time the two most unique and fun characters we’ve ever had.

I love what they’re doing with the nightsoul mechanics because every natlan character has something unique about them that i look forward to. Mualani and kinich both feel super incomplete team-wise but despite that, they still hit hard and rank high in the dps category.

Im excited for xilonen, hopefully they make her a support for my navia team.
