regarding lactic acidosis, the formation of lactate! from pyruvate (not lactic acid) uses up protons, i.e. makes it less acidic. protons are already generated earlier in glycolysis.

What is the normal Anion Gap range
You said 3-11 meq/L
Some say 8-12 and others say 10 - 14
