This got me so confused at the beginning because I kept asking myself how is it that we keep producing increased hydrogen when CO2 increases but yet we are going down in Ph. But once I realized that Ph is measured in 1x10^-ph. Now it made sense because naturally when you decrease something raised to a negative power it would increase it. Thank you for this video!

Thank you for this tip! “ROME”: The Opposite or Equal is in reference to the pH. For example, in Respiratory alkalosis when the pH is High then the carbon dioxide CO2 is Low and the compensatory effect is Low bicarbonate HCO3- so Opposite from the high pH. However, in metabolic alkalosis when pH is High then HCO3- is High and to compensate CO will also be High, so they are all Equally High.
