"you're-you're the one that leads now, j-james" their commanders voice, faded slowly, inaudible in the air full of smoke and war. James looked back. Only 17 of the 300 soldiers were remaining, bloody and scared. He sucked in a shallow breath and got up, the commander's body thuding on the ground, lost to the heartbreaker that war was, the war that didnt care how many wives were getting widowed, or how many kids were becoming orphans, staring the way of their fathers.
"Let us march in the name of God and faith, my brothers"
War didnt care, James believed their god did.

The enemies were way more in numbers, laughing to themselves, why wouldnt they surrender in such a situation? They were all forced to look back when the smoke cleared.

james always had a deep voice, dangerously heavenly even. but that didnt sound nothing like a human....
James's eyes were cold as he stared in their souls, marching forward from the cloud of smoke. only they thought there were only 17...
"God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
Remember, Christ, our Saviour was born on christmas day.
To save ourselves from Satan's power, when we were gone astray..."
the haunting voice was mixed with blood and terror, and the sound of atleast a thousand feet marching from the smoke...
Then they saw those 17 soldiers marching from the smoke, they saw as those 17 became 1700, and so on, chanting the same thing.
All of their eyes, equally separated into heavenly white and demonic reds...
then they looked closely....More closely then it was thought, humanly possible...James didnt had a mouth...
A person came running
"Everyone here ye! ive come with good news! none of those 17s are left even!"
then the enemy commander looked in the left direction, where the shelter for james and his batallion had been once.
He looked..He realized he shouldnt have. but he kept looking. On those eyes that were slowly losing the life in them. James's head bleading as the whole batallion comforted the ground with their blood around him. James looked at the commander of the enemy force hauntingly and mumbled something the commander was sure he shouldnt have heard.

"Im sorry i couldnt save my friends, oh dear god, forgive me, On the hell this war has been has tired me" another huff before he lost the life in his eyes completely.
"G-god rest y-ye merry g-entlemen"
All the while the undead soldier clones of the now dead batallion kept marching, 100s after 1000s from the cloud of smoke that looked like it just kept getting bigger and more fuller of smoke by the second...
James's words still haunted the commander, his honey-thick voice that was too good for this world, still ringing in his ears indefinitely.
James and 'James' 's voices becoming one as he felt his heart thumping at his chest in order to get out.
"GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN"
