Imagine a Gothic cathedral in the middle of the night, completely dark and empty; then your suddenly hear an old clavichord and rusty bells starting to play by themselves and the low nice bass starting to sing out of nowhere. The St.Elmo lights are winking from side to side and this ghostly dark but extremely nice voice is singing and echoed back from the high cathedral ceiling vaults.
It's singing the old carol, older than the cathedral itself, older than its bells, equal in age to the oldest of ghosts.
The carol is ending in an earthy low note, lower and deeper than its dungeons. This note remains underneath forever, bouncing from the old walls and repeated by all the underchurch inhabitants.

Geoff: Yes.

This may be your best yet.

The way you take what is normally such a simple melody and twist and layer it into something that is both familiar and enchanting is wonderful. This will be on repeat for some time!

When you want to sing a beautiful carol, but you can't help being a pirate from the darkest seas.

As an English and etymology nerd, the fact that he rhymed "mind" and "wind" in the original Middle English pronunciation just warms my heart. The "Great Vowel Shift" messed up English lyrics, poetry, and Shakespearean dirty jokes. Also, you can see just how much he loves this song, and I don't blame him. This and "Oh Holy Night" are my favorite Christmas songs. What a great arrangement.

I love it when Geoff and his three twin brothers get together and release a banger

His voice is "biblically accurate" angelic.

We have a dearly beloved cat who went into the dying process. His breathing was labored and difficult, we played God rest ye merry Gentlemen with him in my wife's lap. The last sound he heard was you singing this song. I checked him after the song was over, his chest was still, his eyes fixed and his race was run. I like to think he was welcomed with that song. Thank you for being a part that brought him some comfort in his last moments on Earth.

Geoff seems way more comfortable within his vocal range than he used to be. Awesome to see him constantly improve, as hard as it is to imagine him getting any better.

I am in absolute awe. My grandfather was a bass singer and he actually sang me and my brothers this song in a very low voice when we wanted to sleep. You bring my grandfather's voice back from the dead and it is an absolute gift. Please keep doing what you are doing.

I never was proud of my lower register when i was growing up. I always wanted to sing high like the rock and metal singers I listened to. Now though, I'm proud of my bass range and almost all of the credit goes to this guy. Thank you, Geoff, for helping me realize that being a bass is cool.
