Actually, its very good, just no hood.

That is a wind breaker not a rain coat. Only good for a light sprinkle.

You need 3 layers and fully taped seams AND the product testing that costs a lot. $200 for good rain gear is about the bottom. $600 for an alpine gore-tex jacket is still a thing. But all these $100+ jackets are built to last a decade of backpacking.

Edit: what I mean is.. if you’ve spent over $100 on a specific rain jacket, in theory you paid for it to last like 7-10 years reasonably. If you’re not getting that.. buy different. You cannot go wrong with Patagonia.

I think Columbia products are just over exaggerated and over priced
A friend of mine forced me to buy liftop 3 boots
i doubt by seeing build quality and design if they are really waterproof and can they hold Canadian winters and snow
