TRAPDOOR Spider ON MY FACE Again!

Take a look at this handsome spider! The wafer lid trapdoor spider is one of my favorite trapdoor spiders in the US because of that gorgeous red color! It's such a nice change from the black species that I see more commonly! Trapdoor spiders have always been super interesting to me and I'm glad we were able to find one to to show you all at home! Have you at home ever seen a trapdoor spider? Let me know in the comments!

I grew up in Asheville NC and encountered a trapdoor spider. I had no idea what it was, all I knew it was the biggest spider I had ever encountered! Ended up taking it to WNC Nature Center and they told me what it was! Love your channel! Patricia Gambino Harrington

Great video.. worth the wait.. i think the spider heard your "universal mating" sound effect. Thats why it was twitching..

Love this guy! I had a trapdoor spider friend that would hang out in the garage with me almost every night for a month. It was a male wafer lid like the one in the picture. I named him Oscar.

You absolute madman. We have em in socal, they are so mean. Can't imagine putting my finger on em, much less on closer look, it's different spider, I was thinking of a funnel weaver. They're darker too..

The American variety must be FAR less defensive than the African Variety which will rear up at shadows!

My husband tried to "pet" our trapdoor garage friend, and he said that it grabbed his finger and vibrated just like how you said this one was. Weird! Maybe he thought my husband's finger was a mate?

So... here is my issue: That is some kind of spider I can't even look at (your video) without getting goosebumps all over. It may be fascinating and all - my brain is just not working rationally here (non native speaker, I hope you understand :D) - Do you have ANY good advice, how to overcome this feeling of disgust? I don't want that, don't know why I have it - It is just there... :( Thank you so much! :)

Your channel already helped me A LOT. I started to bring small spiders or these long leg cellar spiders outside instead of killing those. I even had found a dead big black spider (Agelenoidea family - Giant House Spider? Is that the correct term?) in one of their nets - which I thought was quite nice of them to kill, so they don't hide in my flat and scare me :D

But, after following your channel now for some weeks, I woulnd't even want to kill those - although they give me the creeps. I would unfortunately not be able to even catch them with a glass... - because I would probably throuth the glass away the second, the spider moves in it ...

I'd really appreciate some advice. As I wrote before: it is not, that I wouldn't KNOW that they're not out to kill me ;) it is just reflex I can't control when seeing those kinds of spiders. :)

Thank you :)
