What an Opening To a Game, AMAZING!!!

OK so to explain to the non Chinese speakers what the dialogue is all about. In a nutshell, this appears to be AFTER the Journey to the West Story. It seems that after protecting Tang Sanzang and returning with the Scriptures, he was granted a Buddhahood title (as per the original story) but he rejected the title and just wanted to retire in peace and freedom back in Flower and Fruit mountain (his birthplace and home). However, the 'Gods' dont seem to be letting him go off on his own and sent the army you see to 'flatten Flower Fruit mountain and kill all the monkeys there'. This is claimed in Wukong's dialogue but of course we see later that the Monkeys survived (maybe they decided not to proceed after Wukong was defeated?). So Wukong is pissed and decides to fight them all. After Wukong is defeated and turned into that rock, the old monkey recounts the above story to the younger monkeys few hundred years later. Note that this is supposed to be a tale told by the old monkey, so how much of it is true, maybe the game will tell.

Holy shit, had no idea even Erlang Shen (Yang Jian is his true name, Erlang Shen is his title and position in Heaven) makes an appearance. He's Heaven's most powerful Warrior God, and is one of the only 3 existences known to have mastered the most difficult Taoist 72 Earthly Transformations (actually 4 if you count Wukong's master but he's a hermit that hid himself from the world because he knew that with his powers he would be drawn into all sorts of schemes from Heaven, because Heaven will never allow a powerful God to roam rogue freely and will try to put him under supervision and control). Erlang Shen is also the nephew of the Jade Emperor of Heaven, making him not just powerful in terms of strength but even politically within Heaven as well. He has the 3rd eye on his forehead called the Heavenly Eye or Eye of Heaven that can shine and expose the true form of all existence, so shapeshifting and deception is useless against him, and the eye allows him to shoot powerful optic blasts. Let's not forget Erlang Shen is always accompanied by his dog, the Heaven Barking/Roaring Dog. It is one of the most powerful Divine Pets in Heaven (in terms of cultivation and abilities), and is no mere simple dog. It has sentience and divine powers, being able to shapeshift into Human form as well as knowing some basic Taoist arts and magic. It is known for its ability to easily counter and subdue demons of all kinds. It is like a hunting dog or bloodhound that easily finds, assist and hunt its prey with its master.
Erlang Shen is like the Lu Bu from Three Kingdoms Era. A legit last boss type of character and the most powerful warrior from Heaven. If you can beat Erlang Shen, you can technically beat anyone in Heaven.

When I realize what's happening, this all "black myth" thing immediately makes sense now.

The actual Sun Wukong got defeated after the journey to the west and was as dead as it can be. The destined one is other monkey who were probably expected by his people to retain Sun Wukong's soul and hopefully bring him back. Thus, it would make sense why the destined one saw Sun Wukong in a very early demo video. We might also be able to take a guess on how would Sun Wukong make this come back. Maybe the destined one finished his job and he effectively becomes the next Sun Wukong and completed what has been left by his predecessor, i.e., destroy the heaven (this is pretty much the same concept what Kratos is doing in GoW).
