Been enjoying your videos for over 2 years now, thank you Ivan.

Since watching your videos I've worked a desk job I didn't love, been unemployed become a personal trainer and most recently been crushed by the end of a long term relationship.

The entire time I've had your videos to come back to, redirecting my focus in the bad times and giving me something fun to watch and food for thought during the good times.

Much of what you talk about in terms of the soul and mental benefits of lifting resonantes with me and I find myself passing it on as best as I can to my clients.

Thank you for yet another video, all the best to you and your family and I can't wait to see that 200 for 10

High pulls and push presses are one of the best damn movements for any athlete for speed and power. I recently posted on my IG about this. High pulls are definitely my favourite tool for the purpose.

Glad to see you slowly and surely turn into a weightlifter. Bring back the snatches! :D Keep it up man.

What I like about olympic lifts is that you can break them down into parts and still reap the benefits.

Been experimenting with them latelly even though I'm not that strong, it's still fun.

For loaded jumping, Alec Enkiri and Will Ratelle's channels have a lot of content about that and power production, maybe that can give you some ideas.

Alec Enkiri has a video on implementing parts of oly lifting for power training without it getting to technical. Stuff like Hang Power Clean, Hang Power Snatch, etc.

All I can say is that the addition of the hindu squat into my daily routine has made immense changes in my health and how I train.
I have been doing squats everyday, alternating between zerchers and front squats. Warming up with hindu squats beforehand truly makes a huge difference in how I perform.
This is something I intend to keep on doing everyday.

Insightful video man. Started adding push pressing into my training recently and really enjoying it. Definitely noticed some carry over into my squat. Never thought about it as a weighted jump but yeah, I guess you're right! Congrats on the success you've had with your channel and the 200kg streak!

I really enjoyed the push-press theory/philosophy regarding "jump/sq w/ weight>transfer to catch... etc... good monologue today!! and the thumbnail w/ Ivan w/ 2 blue's overhead; that's what got me here lol... nice...

Nice dip and drive on your BTN push press, you’re a natural. When you mention scalable power and athletic development, power cleans fit the bill perfectly. Maybe revisit the snatch too. Super cool to see you exploring oly lifts again, I feel like your lifting journey is coming full circle.

Ivan for ZERO IMPACT JUMPING EXERCISE read here.

ISOMETRIC PLANTAR FLEXION. Literally go up on your tippy toes and hold for time. Start on two legs then progress to one. Hold onto something so balance isn’t the limiting factor. That’ll come with bone density. When adding weight I suggest pressing your hips into something in front of you for balance.

This is awesome when combined with something like that push press that uses the top 1/3 knee rom. That knee pump.

Cheers Ivan!

Back in the day when I did olympic weightlifting my PR on those push presses was 150 kg for 3 - front rack - I remember witnessing Dean Lukin do 200 kg for 5 front rack position

This is wild. Just a few days ago I started doing behind the neck presses again. I forgot how effective and basic they're! I did 62kgX10 strict reps. I wanna get 100kg strict by summer. Great exercise!

Hey Ivan, not sure if you’re gonna read this but I think you should stay the course with the jumps to start off the session. You’ve been able to perform these jumps with no real discomfort everyday which leads me to believe that your joints are handling the eccentric load on the landing just fine. And during this time frame you’ve been able to consistently perform multiple reps of 200kg. As far as progressing the jumps/adding variety to them, you could perform broad jumps some days and vertical jumps on other days. You could also try single leg vertical/broad jumps as the double leg jumps become easier for you. You could also try jumping over hurdles. Also look into extensive plyos, these are very good for building tissue capacity like pogo jumps. I know that was a lot but I hope you take time to read it and keep on the grind!

Power clean from the hang position is also a great option because it requires very little technique

Removalist mate showed he could lift a sofa by himself. He would have one end lifted and bottom against his hips then would hold the upper part tight. When gripped the top and drove his hips forward the other end would rise.

Read up on post-activation potentiation. Eccentrics stimulate greater PAP, usually jumps are placed after squats but try them before to potentiate your squat work. Could lead to strength improvements in the consequent physical performance after the potentiating conditioning exercise
