It takes longer than two weeks for your sebum levels to regulate and normalize. After about a month or two. I rinse my hair thoroughly about once a week and don't need to even wet it daily. It's at the point where the levels of oil on my hair are natural without excess.

i haven't shampoo'd for almost a year now, my hair feels great and i don't have any dandruff but the first 2-3 week after i started was hell. it used to be super itchy back then. once my natural hair oil level adjusted, my scalp became healthy.

Ever since I started using littileextra coconnionn shampoo and hair conditioner, I've noticed a good reduction in hair fall. My hair feels softer and looks shinier. Compared to using other shampoos there was more hair fall. Additionally, I've started using a scalp massager which I believe is also contributing to reducing hair fall.

It's the opposite for me. My hair stopped falling out after 2 weeks of washing and rubbing my scalp regularly with water. My hair is perfect.

When you use shampoo or similar products, you strip the hair of it's natural oil (along with the dirt of course). If you do it often your hair will eventually produce more oil to compensate and adopts to the new normal. But when you suddenly stops using shampoo then, your hair will take time again to adjust to it hence greasy hair.

its normal to loose hair while showering, the average human has between 90, 000 - 150, 000 hairs. so loosing like 50 hairs (or less) in the shower shouldn’t be that bad

I tried this for more than a month and the results were actually good. My hair was no longer greasy. My hair gotten softer, thicker, and has more texture. And every time I wake up my hair is no longer messy.

I would recommend doing this only with cold showering.

It can take over a month for long haired people. Also using baking soda and vinager to wash out the layers of crap the shampoo and condition left behind. It gets worse before it gets great according to other videos I have seen.

Its most prolly cuz of the perm cuz perm damages your hair a lot and not washing your hair with shampoo is a good thing actually normal store shampoos have parabens and laureth sulfate which dries your hair out makes it frizzy washing regularly can even cause hair fall you should wash but like 2 or once a week amd rest of the days you can just use water if you use hair products like hairspray you can just wash it just conditioner too

You have to wash out the conditioner with a alot shampoo without silicones and then start the no poo. Be sure to rinse out the shampoo fully. Your hair will be very dry first couple of days without conditioner but that is ok. Wearing a cap or beanie can make your hair feel less dry and brittle faster. Then you just clean your hair with water and voila.
This works cuz conditioner puts a plastic (silicones) coating on your hair which makes your hair unable to absorb oils. If you have conditioner the oils will just lay ontop of your hair

it honestly depends on individual. some people's hair and scalp can regulate oil and humidity better, allowing it to stay fresh, and shampoo + conditioner would make it worse but still need it from time to time like my hair. some people's hair and scalp has too much oil and needs to be shampoo and conditioned like my sister. some people's hair is dry as a desert and best if you dont shampoo it like my brother's and just conditioner and hair gel

There's a reasonable explanation I heard for the hair loss. It's that your hair is actually lost in the shower rather than everywhere else prior during the day, since the dead hair sticks to the other hair during the day instead of falling on the floor when your hair is sebum-free.
No shampoo can cause hair loss if you have bacterial infection out of not washing your scalp at all, but not because you forego shampoo for a few weeks ffs ^^

Tip for some of you who want to try no poo: buzz cut your hair at the start of the journey so that only the scalp get oily and not the hair, by the time your hair grow back to decent length, your scalp should regulate the oil production to a lower level so you wont get greasy hair anymore

Im 7 years nopoo. You have to know the methodology to quit. Not that easy. I need 1 year to quit. And i never go back to shampoo. Without shampoo, its good for hair.

I lived with limited water access for several years. It takes a while for your hair and scalp to adjust to less frequent washings. It takes a couple months at the very least. I was able to wash my hair at most once a month. In between washings I did brush my hair with a natural bristle brush at least a couple times a week on top of using my regular brush. If my hair got greesy in between I would use corn starch to help with the extra greese. I would use it before bed then brush my hair really good the next morning with both brushes. Also if you have access to hot running water but no shampoo/conditioner rinse your hair with fairly hot water running your fingers through it and you will notice after a bit the oils from your scalp will loosen up and spread throughout your hair to the ends. You will notice a very distinct change in how your hair feels when you do this right. Then rinse with cool water to help maintain hair health. This also helps keep your hair from looking greesy and unclean. My hair looked good most of the time with my routine. I also noticed I didn't have as many issues with the skin/scalp issues actung up during that time. My skin does not do good washing my hair more than once a week with shampoo/conditioner even using more natural products. But anytime I take a shower I do rinse my hair till I feel the texture change. I also dont use any products in my hair outside of my shampoo/conditioner. Thats just a me thing as I dont do much with my hair other than tie it up when needed.

Instead of shampooing I've only been using conditioner, I think that's called co-washing, and my hair has never been better. I only use a clearing shampoo once or twice a week to remove product build up.

The point was to stop using shampoo to gain back your natural oils. The point was NOT to stop cleansing your scalp, the reason your problems were happening was because of the absence of wash days - you still need a consistent wash day accustomed to your hair type and porosity, given you have straight hair you’re more likely to naturally produce more oils, and any buildup on your scalp wouldn’t wash off with just water. A good substitute for shampoo is a good, high quality co-wash.
