Man I love some Popper lures. Have you tried the Lunkerhunt Impact Crush Popper? Say that three times fast! It is a sleeper of a lure, great color, keeps its position well and most of all it catches feesh! Love the videos! 12:03 12:03

I used to fish for 2 weeks every year for 25 years on Crotch Lake in south east Ontario. As far as top water all I ever threw was a Storm Chug Bug in chrome/blue. It was the bomb for smallies. They'd hit it sitting still. A black Jitterbug was also a great producer. I moved to Florida and caught snook on the Chug Bug as well. You are right about tackle prices these days. I started fishing in the 1970 and can't believe what they charge now for lures and equipment. I find it painful to open my wallet for a $25 lure, no less these $75 for a hard bodied swimbait

My favorite popper is one that came in a Monster Bass subscription box. I think it's called the mad max pop or something like that but I made a bad cast and lost it and haven't been able to replace it because you can't find it in stock anywhere.

Is the gambler popping frog considered a popper? Its got the cupped mouth+a rattle. Or is a traditional popper specifically treble hooks w the hair tail one on the back ?

Another great video. Love poppers. I ended up picking up one of the ARK poppers when they had a big sale on their hard baits. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a smaller popper but casted extremely well. Too well in fact because ended up losing to an overhanging bush that I thought was out of casting distance

Years ago when I’d go to a local farm pond I generally only ever took two things—a popper and a rooster tail. Been a long time since either one has been a regular in my rotation!

What I really want to see with prescription sunglasses is more side coverage. Vision INTO the water suffers quite a bit with the light that comes in from the side.

Funny thing I do the same thing. I'll start out my prescription sunglasses and forget my regular glasses. I really have to have them or I'm in trouble tying on lures! Lol😅😂
